Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Leisure Evening

Day 6: Trek from Barranco Hut to Barafu Hut
You'll tackle a challenging trek from Barranco Hut to Barafu Hut, covering around 5-6 kilometers.
This part of the journey involves navigating the imposing Barranco Wall and ascending toward the Heim Glacier.
Despite its daunting appearance, the Barranco Wall is manageable and offers stunning views of Kilimanjaro.
After crossing the Karanga Valley and several ridges, you'll reach Barafu Hut.

Day 7: Summit Day – Trek from Barafu Hut to Mweka Hut
Day 6 marks the summit attempt, starting around 11:20 PM after a brief rest and refreshments.
The journey begins with a challenging ascent in darkness towards Stella Point on the crater rim.
Climbing through heavy scree, you'll endure a mentally and physically demanding 6-hour trek.
Reaching Stella Point (5,739m), you'll pause to witness a breathtaking sunrise, weather permitting.
From Stella Point, a 2-hour climb through snow leads to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
Weather conditions will determine the time spent at the summit, so it's crucial not to linger too long due to cold and fatigue.
Descending to Mweka Hut (3,090m), you'll enjoy dinner and rest after a demanding but rewarding day.
Day 8: Descend from Mweka Hut to Arusha
Begin with an early breakfast at Mweka Hut, preparing for the descent.
The scenic hike back to the park gate takes about 4 to 6 hours.
Some hikers may experience knee issues, potentially prolonging the descent.
It's advised to hold off on tipping porters until safely reaching the gate with all gear.
At Mweka gate, climbers sign in, receiving summit certificates based on their achievements.
