Usually I give very good reviews. However, in this case there was a major negative, combined with smaller issues.
The major negative is the owner of the place, an Italian man & a total lack of basic communication.
I messaged them when we made our bookings a month in advance, to explain that we had 2 separate but equiv bookings for 3 consecutive nights & we would like a fourth night if possible. There was no response.
We arrived a bit after 8 pm due to our flight from Europe being delayed. We had tried to let the hotel know but we could not get wifi on the plane or in Bangkok airport, so we just got there as quickly as we could. He was at least waiting for us, thankfully.
Our room was sufficient - we had been travelling for 8 months & are not fussy. I like a firm mattress but this one was like a hard springboard which resulted in a sore back for both of us.
The next day my daughter was unwell so we asked for a second key - we were told it was not possible - after further pressing he gave me the external door code which was great except that it changes at 8 pm I think.
One of the reasons we booked here was the luggage storage promised on Booking.com Again, we were told no, booking.com is wrong! And again, after pressing, we were offered storage in a storage room until 8 pm, which we were grateful for.
The stairs are an accident waiting to happen.
The worst thing though was that they messaged us at 9.20 pm on our 2nd night, telling us that we had to change rooms the next morning & would have to recheck in after 2 pm, or cancel the booking. There was zero compromise. They had a month to work this out but left it until late the night before to tell us. We already had plans for the next day from very early but we ended up cancelling them & moving to another place that day. The owner was very unpleasant about it all & totally lacking in compassion. This seems to be a common theme in the reviews, in hindsight.
