Good location in the Takapuna area and ease of food and drive to the other parts of North Shore is a breeze. parking is great and rooms are of good size.

I don't know the room cleaning plan, but on a 4 day stay, they clean the room on the 3rd day. would be great if the hotel already know the number of nights and space out the cleaning time , e.g if I am staying 4 nights, would be good to clear the room on the 2nd night , not on the 3rd night.

Old tired hotel in desparate need of refurbashing.

Excellent location. Hotel inside is old and tired, needs modernising, refurbishing, air-conditioning is noisy. Mold in corners of shower, I found my room musty smelling, could be the old carpet.

Great staff at reception Room was spotlessly clean and the bed and sheets and pillows very comfortable Good shampoo and shower products

Find the additional car parking fee quite expensive The breakfast options available used to be much better than they are now

Comfy bed and clean room

No restaurant facilities hallway smelt so strongly of Indian food . Not even a bottle of water in the fridge and as we arrived late from Aus no way to get food

High expectations usually not met at the Spencer.

The location in Takapuna is great.

We have stayed here a few times, probably due to a lack of nice accommodation on the shore. Each time we hope for a nice room with a nice view and we always get low floors with no view. There is always something not quite right too. This time it was the key wouldnt work, so we had to go back downstairs again. There were lots of different dinner smells in the building and the bathroom was mouldy and not that clean.

It was ok but not riviting

There were 2 large beds & a fully equipped kitchen. The view from the balcony was nice. The pool area (once accessed) was lovely however more chairs would be good.

There was an unlisted $200 bond required on entry, there were also black spots in our shower. Our access card wouldn't let us get into the pool area.
