The Press Hotel, Autograph Collection is a well-appointed boutique hotel with a fancy ambiance and clean, modern rooms. The staff is excellent and accommodating, and the location is perfect for explo (Read More)ring downtown Portland. Some highlights include the beautiful decor that pays homage to the building's newspaper history, the convenient pump hand/body soap in the bathrooms, and the comfortable beds. The only downsides mentioned are the required valet parking and limited options for food and wine in the lobby. Overall, guests highly recommend the hotel and would stay again.

Cute themed hotel

The Press Hotel was in a great location. Not too far of a walk for different areas. The hotel was very nice. The rooms were a good size and very clean. The bathroom was nice. The restaurant had very good food. The staff was helpful.

It seemed like the cleaning staff left their trolleys out in the halls for most of the time. It just makes the hotel hallways look grungy.

Over hyped with surprisingly awful restaurant

Reception very helpful

Surprised at nickel and diming...expensive room but breakfast not included. The restaurant was marketed as unusual and special. In reality, seriously overpriced for small portions, and the gravlax I ordered was terrible. Large peppercorns overpowered the dish and the room temp frissee was too salty. Should have been delicately flavored lucious salmon and lightly herbed vinegrette salad instead of simply salt and pepper...and way too much. I would never have served this.

Had a great visit, enjoyed all the restaurants and the port.

The location was great , close to everything and staff was very friendly.

The fire station noise, truck going out at all times with sirens.

Lovely, expensive, unique.

Location is prime for downtown Portland, and the thoughtful decorative touches were truly a sight to behold. The vintage typewriters, the lettered flooring, even the room number lighting. Just spectacular to take in knowing the space once held the Press Herald. Such a storied building!

The bathroom door wouldnt close, almost if it was bolted to the hinge askew or something. Looking at the threshold, we could see the scrapes the door made over who knows how long. It definitely seemed like an ongoing issue. Maybe just a feature of the room? It was the only odd thing. Also, somewhat bothersome that its valet only. Wed left some things in the car after valeting, but didnt want to put anyone through the hassle of retrieving the car just for a few random items.
