Drake location is great, and the valet service offered. The room size was good, having a coffee shop on site was a bonus, the check in staff was pleasant.
the bathroom and room was very dated and the HVAC was unable to cool the room, the room was very hot, the room only had two towels instead of four

Historic hotel, great gift shop, wonderful location but hotel accommodations are worn out.
The room was rather torn up looking...chipped furniture and peeling wall paper. The building is looking past its prime. Room very small.
I am having a billing issue (and had one last time, too). I am being over charged and what I was quoted and made a reservation for was not honored. This will take me a while to sort out (did last year too), and it is enough of a hassle to urge me to get a different place for our annual post Christmas trip to Chicago.

Lovely historic hotel thats great for a pleasant visit to Chicago.
The location is right in the heart of the Gold Coast. Steps from Oak Street boutiques and 900 Michigan shops. Many restaurants and cultural offerings within an easy walk or short bus ride. The hotel is beautifully preserved and offers a luxury vibe at a reasonable price. Many families were there celebrating the holiday season at high tea in the gorgeous Palm Court. The staff is helpful and very accommodating.
It can be very bustling in the entry and lobby with limited seating. The rooms are comfortable but are older. The Palm Court has such limited hours there was no place to have a cocktail except the basement bar that was always jammed and so noisy we had to go elsewhere.

Our room was exceedingly hot. We turned heat OFF and the room was still extremely HOT- like probably 75-78 with no power on. It was 35-40 outside.

It was a nice experience. PLEASE TRAIN YOUR STAFF BETTER.
My room has a beautiful lake view.
The hallways and my room were extremely WARM. The fan did not work well which resulted in temperatures being warm throughout the night.
Staff needs to be more courteous and please SMILE. The front desk lady was distracted, no eye contact, no friendliness when I checked in. During my stay, I had asked for help from a few staff members at the entrance and once in front of the Palm Court before our tea time, they were annoyed, impatient and not eager to help. It was unfortunate for a beautiful and historic hotel.
