A hotel I would stay at again

I was impressed by the kindness and service of the breakfast team chefs, especially Mani, Sameer & Raman. Thanks to them, it became a place I would love to visit again.

The check-in area is the face of the hotel, but the staff were very mechanical and unsmiling. The fact that you had to stand in a corner at the back when checking out, in a different place than checking in, not so smart image for the hotel.

Good hotel with comfortable rooms

The room was quite big, comfortable and clean. The location was good.

The waiting time for check-in was quite long (15-min whereas there was no queue).As we arrived in the night, after a long flight, very tired and with young kids, it was quite annoying to have to wait for so much time. Also I had mentioned that I had a gluten free and dairy free diet but there was not much for me gluten free or dairy free for breakfast.

Bad service, overcharging.

Have to state that Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi left us with a sense that Taj group lack customer service skills across the board. The room provided on check-in was not clean. Dirty sheets and stains on cups, bathroom appeared it hadnt been cleaned properly (wet patches on the sink, no signs of the toilet being cleaned). Eventually moved to another room and still signs of not being cleaned properly, the bath tub had black spots all over and cracks at the plumbing, like an unfinished diy job. Felt like we spent the start of our India holiday cleaning the room. Then after agreeing a price over the phone for a transfer from Delhi to Vrindavan, we were charged considerably more than expected. It was only when I checked credit card statement I realised what had happened. We were simply ripped off as the price quoted by the concierge and the price charged were crazy different (quotes approx 40 and charged 375!!!). When complaining to the hotel, we were passed around like no one wanted to deal with the issue. I simply wanted to pay a fair rate for the transport not 6 times the rate I couldve got elsewhere. Was told it was due to the higher quality of service, which is completely not true. Since the journey wasnt the best experience (driver hadnt planned the journey or aware of possible road closures. I ended up giving directions!), this was truly a bad experience and the feeling of being ripped off, I have since had better service booking rides through UBER and Booking.com (drivers regularly checking comfort of passengers). Despite emailing Taj group in advance as the majority of my India trip would be to stay with Taj across multiple locations across India, I am left with a bitter taste and left of its worth sticking with any future bookings with the Taj group (probably not). I have had multiple email correspondence and often found that I have to continue chase them for replies.

The staff was very courteous and facilities were luxurious. It was an exceptional stay overall.

The property has exceptional open space for kids to play in garden. The temperature controlled swimming pool and other spa facilities were just excellent. These things are very difficult to find in middle of Delhi which is notoriously one of the most polluted cities in the world.

The breakfast quality can be improved.

The most amazing hotel

The hotel has the most amazing breakfast and dinner buffet I have ever seen. The rooms are so clean and beautiful. They filter air in the hotel as pollution is very bad in New Delhi. It was a rear place in walking distance from many attractions. It is in the Embassy Enclave and very safe for walk for families.
