Disappointing

Only and only positive about the property is the view you get from the lawn and the rooms with balcony.

A lot of many things. Let me list it down, - only two staff, one of them is also a chef. - No lunch facilities - Breakfast was served between 8:30-9:30 amwithout even asking what we will eat. - Kitchen closes at 9PM. Strictly. - entire property is dead ( no lights) 9PM. - No microwave oven to get your food reheated if at all you get late. - location is remote and roads are not well. - Double room is so so compact that its not even worth 1000 rupees, let alone 3600. Hospitality is suffering majorly. The two staff are really cordial though but too less to manage so many people.

It was a wonderful time staying here with a beautiful view of the valley.

Loved the fact that place is run by a Chef with records in Guinness & Limca to boot. Its off the main town crowd and bustle. This was a last minute emergency booking and I am glad I opted for this place based on Google ratings. A coincidence that the owner is a Chef and holder of multiple records from Guinness and Limca. We share the same professional backgrounds and is always welcoming towards guests. Basu is the in-house cook and help, he is very warm and helpful with a warm smile. He cooks well, please ask for your choice of food. I would love to stay here, offering a beautiful view of the valley below. Ask for the balcony view. Its away from the bustle of the town but worth the stay if youre getting away from your digital life.

Our Stay was good though there are lots of scope of improvement.

The View was fantastic. This matches with what we saw in the picture

The Toilet is too cramped. The Food portion should have been better. The cost of the facilities were of 5 Star hotel but the comfort didnt match the expectation.

Beautiful place with spectacular views. Very hospitable people. Driver suggested by host was very polite and showed us all places. Cook was also helpful, gave us whatever we asked. If you want a quiet place away from city buzz you should come here

Once upon a time in kodaikanal

My wife & i happened to visit syamantac villa for a much needed getaway. I must say it was a really really meticulous experience. The view from our room was breathtaking. Girija mam & basu was great. They were like family. We will come back soon. Whoever out there looking for a vacation at kodai, i would only recommend girija mam and the beautiful place she has there.

Wonderful place

The amenities are worth the price, good homely food (south Indian style mostly) , nice view from balcony, away from city centre which makes it calm and quiet, the host was really good.

The tv subscription plan was over (which was not really an issue for me) ,there is specific timing for hot water (which was an issue as I normally take bath in the evening), if you're planning to stay, better come by your own car/bike (you can find cab drivers though).

View of kodai hills from balcony is amazing. Quite and cozy. Clouds cover the homestay often and picture perfect Stay was comfortable and walk around the facility was exhilarating. Food is very good and higenically prepared. Basu, the staff member was very nice and his cooking is totally south Indian though he is from West Bengal. Host is super , not to miss mentioning Mr. Jagan nivas's warm and hospitality. Would definitely recommend anyone who wish to visit kodaikanal for holiday and relaxing in quiet place.

One km of approach to facility though my Mercedes GLA took it graciously. Follow the directions of host to reach facility without getting lost in cross roads.

Good view from the balcony, difficult to reach location, less than average service

The valley view from the property was nice. It gave a panoramic view of the valley with waterfalls, forests and part of the city

It was in a locality not easily reachable. It was basically a house with small rooms and basic facilities. The bed sheets were not clean. We got it changed. We only used the towers we carried.
