Exceptional

Awesome, great vibe

Theres a great vibe about this place. Located in a Laneway, the hostel is away from the noise and traffic. Its right in the central part of St Kilda, with plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars. The beach is about a 5 minute walk. Would highly recommend this place if youre looking to stay in a excellent location and not spend much for it.

Bathroom was trashed when I got there and wasn't cleaned for a whole day. Staff seem to only be present in the evening.

Poor service

I booked it via booking.com and paid full amount before I reach. They reserved me bed no 4. But when I go their some one is on my bed and he said the manager gave that bed for him. I was so disappointed and spent the night without sleeping. I tried to contact the management so many times and couldnt. I booked it and paid for 7 days . But I spent my 1st day without sleep and left the premises. Still They didnt contact me. Very bad bad customer care service. Really. Im so disappointed about this unmanaged premises. If u can plz return my money.

I liked nothing aboutbit. The premises was extremely unclean, rat infested and cockroach nfested. was unfriendly, lacked professionalism and was absolutely rude.

I disliked everything about this hostel. The worst hostel I have ever stayed at.

Not enough staff for emergencies or concerns

Very clean, very quiet, no nonsense facilities

The lack of staff on-site combined with the fact that anyone can enter if they know the door codes made me feel extremely unsafe. The self check-in is very convenient, but without another person there to verify who is entering and exiting the building it becomes a bit scary. For example, when my only other bunkmate, a male, came in at 2am and then immediately ran out and disappeared when he saw me, I couldn't tell if he was a registered guest or an intruder. I was terrified, and then without any staff I was not able to call anyone and make sure that I wasn't overreacting. I ended up staying awake all night because he never came back. From now on I will book only a female dorm.

Saint Kilda Accommodation is clean, comfy and convenient.

I was surprised by how quiet it was (as backpacker hostels when I was visiting America tended to be very noisy). The lockers were a useful safety feature which I hadn't expected - it meant I could leave stuff in my dorm room.

I had to wait until after 10:30 am for reception to open so I could check out and get back my locker key deposit. The medium-size saucepan in the kitchen had its handle almost falling off and needed a 10-seconds fix with a screwdriver (which I didn't have with me, or I would have fixed it!).

Never again

Good location, very close to the St Kilda Pier/ beach and good connection to public transport. Close to shops and many restaurants as well as cafes and a park was also nearby. Beds are okay, not the best but okay.

First of all - where is the staff? Saw someone for check in and another time someone cleaning but after that - never again. Its a rather small hostel but still there are quite a lot of people inside. There are exactly 3 rubbish bins (one in each bathroom and one in the kitchen) which were always overflowing. The kitchen itself ist too small. Pots, pans, plates etc were always either dirty besides the sink or wet and there was nothing to dry them off. Also only one fridge for the whole hostel which was always too full. When you check in you sign something where you agree to a quiet time between 10pm-8am. There are also signs where its mentioned again. Every night at point 10pm it seems at least half of the hostel starts to party in the hostel. But nobody seemed to care because - no staff. Stay here if you can sleep in a loud environment and only be there for sleeping and a short way to the beach. Its rather expensive for what they provide.
