Great value-for-money canal house conversion hotel in a super location for exploring Amsterdam.

The location was excellent and within easy walking distance of the station, tram stops and most attractions. Despite being so close to the action, the hotel was a quiet space. The conversion of the three canal houses was sympathetically done and resulted in a perfect balance of traditional and contemporary. The interior design was really nice, with use of photo murals depicting the canal houses of Amsterdam. The reception area is small and simple in design but welcoming and well stocked with snacks, drinks and other travel necessities as well as tasteful souvenirs of Amsterdam. The coffee/breakfast area was well appointed, a pleasant place to sit and there was a good breakfast selection on offer. Everywhere in the hotel was exceptionally clean. Welcome postcard and small gift of delft Dutch shoes in our room on arrival was a lovely touch. We would definitely consider staying again!

This is not a fault of the hotel; we just didnt realise that wed booked a room on the top floor. In a canal house this is a very small space, which results in a very small bathroom. The bathroom was a wet room and, in such a small space, this resulted in an almost entirely wet bathroom floor after a shower. Also, the outlook from the window was just a brick wall. If we had realised the position and size of the room, we would have booked a different room. Although the staff team were friendly and helpful, we did detect a slight edge to their demeanour at times which was difficult to read. I did question one member of staff about an interaction we had early on during our stay and I do wonder if the fact that I dared to question something resulted in the rest of the team regarding us differently from that point onward. As I said, however, the staff team were mostly friendly and helpful for the duration of our stay.

4 night stay over Christmas

Staff were all so friendly. 24 hour service and snacks. Perfect location - nice and quiet but only a short walk to the center and station. Room had everything you needed - perfect for people wanting to explore during the day and have a comfortable place to go at the end of the night. We will be staying again!
