I really enjoyed my stay, albeit mostly from the surroundings - which are absolutely fantastic. Go to chiang dao, now!

Situated beautifully and within walking distance to the cave tempel, and the tempel with the many steps. Sounds of nature all around and a really good and cheap restaurant right next door. Theres a good selection of drinks and snacks available at the frontdesk as well. The people of Chiang Dao are generally really friendly, smiling and helpful. Whilst walking to Saen Kam Resort from the busstation, random people stopped and offered me rides.

No english. I was being laughed at mockingly whilst they spoke in thai more than once. Was quite uncomfortable. Besides that I saw rats run under my hut on two occasions.

Exceptional

The staff gave us advice on how to get there and for further travels in the region. After our stay, we were driven to the bus station, which was very kind. The Thai breakfast was very good and plentiful. Had to do some work and the internet quality was perfect for video calls. Great views from the house!

Amazing view from terrace

I had the highest cabin but worth all the steps for the views from the terrace! comfortable bed, v quiet, nice big towels, bedside lamp (often dont have this is Thailand I find, so that was a bonus) and very friendly owners.

Comfortable and very nice view.

Everything was perfect. Staff are great. Fools was tasty and they me a free motorcycle. The villa has superb view. The resort also gave me free fruits, Mango and Longan.

Very grim, unloved and tired. Breakfast was very poor - cold watery omelette with cold broccoli and potato. We booked and paid for 2 nights but left after 1. Very overpriced even for budget accommodation. Interestingly it no longer appears on booking.com listing but can be accessed by map.

I booked 5 rooms, the water heater in 2 rooms was broken, and one was repaired after calling, but the other room can only open the bathroom of the opposite room for us.

Nice setting and location.

Needs better maintenance and cleaning. Shower is on top of toilet, even though the bathroom is big enough to make a seperation. Bed is quite hard. Instant coffee for breakfast is a big no no in the middle of coffee country!

Pleasant

Great location ten min walk from caves. The one breakfast we got was tasty and fresh. No choice given. Beautiful surroundings and grounds. Comfy, big bed and very basic shower facilities.

Start of quieter season meant nobody there to greet us/ tell us anything about breakfast which meant we missed it the first day. Owner? had to send her sister to open up.
