Mövenpick Hotel Wellington

A special trip to Wellington with my teen daughter for a mummy daughter shop up prior Xmas. We were put in a room with an adjourning room door (locked) so there was no sound proofing from the occupants in the neighboring room and they had a baby that cried a lot. One evening room service did not pick up for over an hour until I complained to reception, even then I still had to chase them up as they did not call me as promised by desk staff. The hotel rave about their 'chocolate hour' on social media which turned out to be disappointing in reality. Not as fancy as depicted in social media photos or on their website, the treats were depleted after 30 minutes, and staff took a while to replenish for their guests. I had to ask staff for kebab sticks as they had forgotten to place these on the table. Decided to treat my daughter to a restaurant meal instead of eating out in the city, we didn't book prior but found the restaurant with only three other guests there at the time of our arrival, we sat at a table for two at the window, I had forgotten to present at the bar to check in my room number for a table on arrival, we were approached by a member of staff and told we could not sit at the window table as I had not booked and was moved to a table by the kitchen! I felt embarrassed and looked down on by three female staff members standing around talking behind the bar. It was an empty restaurant with plenty of better seating options and we got plonked there what seemed like out of spite. We should have just walked out. As it turned out the table, we had chosen by the window had not been booked by another guest and staff were just being obnoxious! Very disappointing stay at this hotel and I will not be rebooking. The staff were all miserable, appeared self-entitled and clearly didn't want to be there working. A hotel is only as good as its members of staff! Happy to discuss this honest rating with management.
