Average hotel with comfy comfy beds and great pool, but a blocked shower

The beds were comfy and clean. The pool and gym on the rooftop were pretty awesome The view from the room was great, and it was quiet with the window closed. Friendly reception and hotel staff.

Shower was blocked and caused a flood in the bathroom, even though we didn't use much water. Laundry facilities: machine washed badly and the area was quite dirty.

Its ok for a day worth of stay but overall service quality is not great

Room was good with a great view of the city

One of the the two lifts wasn't working which resulted in long waits and the staff was not informing us about the situation and the housekeeping staff also didn't do their job well.

Pool so good we used it twice. Attended happy hour, pianist was ok but music too romantic for 4pm happy hour.

We sat in bar area dyring happy hr Frjday, there was an unplessant smell. Same smell noted at reception area but as not as strong.

Needs to improve

This hotel is well located in the Spring Hill precinct and we enjoy staying in this part of town. The staff are mostly hospitable and when asked to help with an issue, they are more than willing to assist. The rooms are reasonably comfortable but the new renovations have taken away some of the most comfortable amenities.

One of the lifts was out of service during our stay and this caused guests a great deal of angst regarding moving around the hotel. The new renovations have not been well thought out. The light in the bathroom only operates in combination with an extremely noisy overhead fan. When you want to use the toilet in the middle of the night the whole hotel could hear the racket because of the noise. The lights in the living area also share a switch and so you can only have full brightness which is over the top or blackout. The new couch and coffee table are not as convenient as a table and chairs. We wanted to have dinner in the restaurant but a family with several children were making such a racket with handheld devices and loud speaker phone calls we felt we couldnt stay and left without ordering. This is also the second time we have stayed at this hotel and our room has not been made up when we have specifically asked for that to happen. We are regular visitors and really like this hotel and want to return but the management will have to organise itself better or we will go elsewhere.
