ALTIDO Observatory House, situated in the center of Edinburgh, offers a stunning view over the city and is a great place to visit with friends and family. The 18th-century building, once inhabited by (Read More) architect James Craig, is an impressive example of his work. While not open to the public, visitors can still enjoy the panoramic views of Edinburgh from Calton Hill for photography and sightseeing.

Poor

You couldnt pay me to stay here again.

The bathtub and the view are nice.

There is next to no privacy. Can hear everything from the guests upstairs and the throngs of tourists directly outside the apartment. Children literally climbing up the walls. The door to the area that is supposed to be closed at 5 pm was not closed and I had tourists swarming the property until almost 11 pm. The bed is extremely cheap and uncomfortable, which is unacceptable at this price point.

Very good

The location was absolutely stunning, it really made you feel like you were part of history when you looked out the windows over the city! Not only was the location beautiful but it was also very convenient, in the middle of the city but far enough away to have peace! The bathroom was so relaxing and peaceful with a brilliant tub and shower and a large window to see the stars! (Dont worry its fully private!). The apartment was decorated amazingly and was perfectly clean! Someone has obviously put a lot of effort into making this a beautiful place!

The let downs for us were; the bed was two single beds pushed together which wouldnt have been an issue with a duvet big enough, however the duvet was clearly meant for a double which meant to cover both people one of the people had to lay in the crack of the beds (Which was very uncomfortable) we ended up having to use the throw at the bottom of the bed for one of us! Also the boiler in the bedroom made it very loud, and if you have neighbours above (like we did for the last night) it can get even louder! You could hear everything they were saying upstairs, there is also a green light on the ceiling which is right above the bed, eye masks are provided but it still is a frustration when trying to sleep.
