Yara Galle Fort is highly recommended for its welcoming staff, comfortable rooms with amenities, and excellent food. The hotel has a lovely inner courtyard and is centrally located within Galle Fort, (Read More) making it easy to walk to nearby attractions. Some drawbacks include intermittent AC and low water pressure. Overall, it provides a calm and safe atmosphere for solo female travelers and is a perfect place to stay when visiting Galle Fort.

We loved the location, rooms and the service

rooms and linen are very good. located within the Galle Fort and resturants are accessible within walking distance. Prior checkin call and confirmation was very good.

The location does not have parking with in the hotel, however there is public parking right opposite to the entrance. Rooms are not insulated against outside noise.

Excellent hospitality. Great breakfast. Beautifully maintained property.

This is an excellent place for a short vacation. We visited as a party of 3 families (with kids) for 3 nights. The staff are some of the nicest people you are likely to encounter at any comparable hotel in the world. Everyone at the reception, restaurant and room service are genuinely caring of their guests and try to do what the can to make sure they give the best experience to people on holiday. The rooms are spacious, clean and have enough plug points. The bathrooms are big, have enough towels, and have got and cold water. The breakfast is EXCELLENT. Both the western and Sri Lankan options are fantastic and extremely well portioned. This alone is one of the top highlights of the hotel.

A few things they could tweak to improve : The plumbing in the shower in all the rooms is slightly flaky, and sometimes the geyser stops working. Second, the plug points could easily be made into universal points instead of local only. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here, simply for the lovely people who run this place, and the heritage value of the property, which is excellently maintained.

The Hotel bang in the Galle fort.. the heart of action. Clean room / all amenities were nice The staff was brilliant. We were there on Christmas Day, so the staff arranged a brilliant plum cake individually for all guests with a personal card signed by all staff. The cake was yum. Their room service was nice. The location is the best thing about the hotel. Its walking distance from Pedlar street / Dutch hospital / Chambers restaurant/ Gallery Fort Restaurant.
