excellent service and beyond expectations

very nice staff, very responsive and responsible (e.g. the table light did not work and called we called for repairing. the staff reached us at the restaurant to tell us it was fixed ). very delicious dinner which is inclusive in the room price

not really, but it will be even better if there is more clothes hanging space in the room.

Not as good as we expected

Customer service in le cafe breakfast was ok

I was disgusted with the lack of maintenance because the bathroom handle fell off and then the toilet handle did no work, I went to reception at 10am about the toilet and reported it when I came back at 3pm nothing had been done so we had to move rooms, they said it would be a upgrade but the only thing different was the size of the bed and when we got into the room the fridge was not working so I went to reception and reported it they were going to get maintenance out and they never came. I was not happy with reception keep offering me different rooms because of simple problems.we had to pay 2 for a small jug of milk.the food and drink prices were too expensive ie 13 for a fish finger sandwich.

Voco value!

We've stayed before at the Voco Reading, but several years ago when Covid-19 restrictions were in force. The hotel is central for our travelling needs, but it's the room options and reasonable price that excel at this 4 star hotel. On this one night visit the location met all our expectations, with Leon on reception being very welcoming and polite, as well as supportive with regard my IHG membership. Our very large and comfortable double bedded room (one King size and one Queen) is perfect and has an excellent bathroom layout too. Plenty of parking for free on site and breakfast was pretty good, just not as wide a selection as we would like or expect.

Only minor, but breakfast could include a better range of cold food selection such as yoghurts and more savoury nibbles. The re was only one coffee machine too, so people cueing on occasion and I'd expect hot options such as Eggs Benedict or Kippers similar to other 4 star hotels.

Yes pool could do with being updated, but still usable and not where you spend the majority of your time.

When we arrived the staff member was rude, The hotel has gone down hill since it has changed hands. Used to be amazing esspecially when a staff member thats used to work there was amazing Martina she was incredible but does not work there anymore. We had not enough towels in the bathroom, dirty cups to make coffee in the morning, hair in the bathroom bathtub where its not been clean properly from previous guests. We paid for breakfast in the bed and coffee arrived cold and dried up pastries. No fruit. We paid for 3 breakfasts but this was not up to standards from previous stays here! We paid for a suite which was nothing like a suite so I would not recommend staying here! Also the facilitys the pool was dirty and the showers you could smell sewerage whist showering & other guests was saying all the same things that the hotel has gone down hill which is sad. This stay was meant to be a special stay as visiting family with a poorly family member and it was nothing but stressful for myself and my family. They also over charged us for our stay for 1 night cost of 407 pounds which I then had to report to fraud because I did not authorise 3 payments of this amount only 167 for one night stay! Utter nightmare!
