very disappointing - avoid

Super central location, comfy bed, great shower.

This property is misrepresenting itself as a luxury condo - it isn't. We arrived and found a construction site: holes in the wall and ceiling, random wires hanging out of walls where no one had fitted an outlet yet, constant construction noise. The elevator alarm sounded every 10 seconds for the entire 4 days of our stay - no one came to fix it. At no point had we been warned about the ongoing construction, still less offered a discount or option to change our booking. Furthermore, the access is a joke: there's nowhere to park while unloading, and the construction just made it worse. We arrived at the side-street entrance (per the instructions) to find a porta john / portaloo and a skip blocking our access. After a long drive, with a car load of stuff to unpack, and a parent in tow, i was frustrated and embarrassed to arrive at this place -- and that sense of disappointment continued inside. The couch was stained all over. Some of the fixtures are very cheap - several cupboard handles and door handles were loose. The blinds in the bedroom are inadequate to block the bright street lighting. The kitchen isn't well equipped (there's no water boiler for making tea; there's no chopping board; there's only a Keurig, not a proper coffee machine).

Overall it was a great place to stay.

The location was perfect. Right in the middle of shopping and restaurants. Easy walking distance to everything.

The living room carpet was stained/dirty, needs to be replaced. A lot of noise outside from large trucks untill early morning hours, probably due to single pane windows.

My stay at The Quarters on King was fantastic and will definitely stay there again whenever I return to Charleston.

I highly recommend The Quarters on King as a place to stay when in Charleston. Its conveniently located in the heart of the tourist area and in walking distance to many attractions restaurants and shops. Its also close to the stops for the free bus that takes you to many tourist destinations. The apartment was very large, very clean, a contemporary style with state-of-the-art appliances. Beds were super comfy and the bathrooms were clean and had a fabulous shower that was roomy with a rain shower head above and a 4-spray handheld shower head. We stayed in room 201, and if you have a party of 2-4, 5 if someone is willing to sleep on the couch, this is definitely where you want to stay. It will make your trip that much better.

We liked the property itself, the construction at 7 am was completely unacceptable while on vacatio

The size was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and it was easy to get upstairs. There was plenty of room for our group. The washer and dryer was a great bonus!

Construction started at 7 am with VERY loud banging and drilling. We were awoken out of bed with a jolt and it continued to be that noisy until we checked out. We had 5 people and we could not locate any extra blankets for the sofa bed. We had to call and get access to another unit to take some from there.

Sleepless in Charleston!!

Location. Directly on King St. Center of historic district. Nice furnishings

Wasnt informed of construction on building when reserved this property! Why?? $462 a night & Couldnt sleep all night !! Contacted office was told "manager not in will have him contact you to help resolve this issue, we've gotten multiple calls about this lately & were very sorry , will get to the bottom of this I PROMISE " !!! Kept getting woken up from metal clanging from construction on rear of building! King St. One way st w/no place to unload vehicle of luggage etc.. they say pull down side st to unload vehicle but construction on rear of building with roll away dumpster blocking side of building. Parking lot is about 3 blocks away unless you pay to park in different lot ( which I suggest) it's been 3 days and still haven't gotten call from " manager" , was told manager doesn't work weekends & he's been busy with the " construction & move " ?? Well isnt the customer most important part of a business?? Guess NOT for some businesses!! I've called 4 times to property & 3 times to Bookings.com NO HELP !!!
