Splash Beach Resort, Maikhao Phuket - SHA Extra Plus

This resort is a peaceful place, placed in a fine distance from noise and traffic. Placed just aside the airport, so easy to reach after long journey, plus lots of fun watching planes landing It is very clean and the facilities are very fine (have potential to be better though). Very good breakfast and fine breakfast restaurant. The food is fresh and tasty, compliments to the chiefs. There are small shops and local restaurants, massage around the corner. Beautiful quite beach, the waves are a bonus and fun, but it is rather not for small children. The quests have free access to a Waterpark. The personal at the reception very serviceminded and competent, with satisfactory language skills. Tan and Au in the Kids Club doing great job, my daughter enjoyed the place very much, thank you. The place is huge, so the quests are offered lift in small buggies, very well organized, thank you

Might be due to the size of the place, that it is not easy for the stuffl to reach a single guest. Eating in hotel restaurants was always frustration due to waiting time- always. Please make sure, that people get drinks, so they are at ease. Then give the food to the kids. Our Christmas Eve, and New Year were ruined because of the mess with the drinks and food (chefs were busy setting up desserts, while food for the children was still not there). Russian host was... a "surprise" in Thailand. We did not understand a bit. If your kid wants to play at the Kids Club, you as a parent are most welcome to stay at the Club or be in your room just do not take bath. You need to go to the club to check on your kid every hour. I couldnt visit SPA because of that "rule". My kid could be there 2-4 hours never wanted to leave. Staff gest tlf number, why not contact the parent if needed. The Kids Club is open to 18.00, but the kids must be picked up 15-25 min before. Generally lots of staff often seems tired of guests and too busy.

No dresser to unpack your clothes to. The beds had a built in platforms with sharp corners sticking out. Completely unnecessary. Multiple times we cut the skin on those corners. Shampoo and soaps are cheap and they dont provide hair conditioner, also dont give you enough toilet paper. The cleaning is every few days and you have to ask for it. The showers were clogged and even when maintenance was called to fix it, they didnt fix it. The waterpark is free but not really. You need to pay for towels, you cant bring waters or any food. There is no self laundry place on the resort so you need to take it yourself to a neat laundry place - I recommend 126 laundry. You can opt out for doing laundry at the hotel for but its unreasonably priced. The breakfast has a big selection but its tasteless. The service is poor. People dont help in any way to make the stay more comfortable or convenient. The staff walks away when you try talking to them. The waitress serves food passing plates over other people or plates- they are just simply not trained. The restaurant allows smoking outside so you can eat breakfast with a family and right next door a bunch of Russians will be blowing smoke in your face. Also, there is no lifeguard at the pool or beach. You cant smell the chlorine so not sure how much they actually monitor it. Also, probably the most annoying thing was the kitchen messing up orders almost every time we ordered. I mean almost every time they would bring out stuff we didnt order. So half of the table already ate their meals once the others are still waiting to get their correct meal. In general, the management needs to improve the overall staff. They are not consistent. One family gets a better room than others, others get a welcome drink that we didnt. Its just not a very high standard. Too bad because it could be a beautiful resort with a great experience. We will not recommend it to friends.
