Disappointing

Room Size

Unfortunately, when we arrived there was a power outage. However, there was no compensation or incentive for having to wait for room availability. We had a timeline event planned for many months, to which I was unable to get ready due to no power. We had lights in our room for about 45 minutes the evening before but NO POWER the whole time, including no TV, phone chargers and air conditioning. Understanding that staff would be busy, but no empathy or professionalism throughout our stay.

Pleasant

Great location and experience spoiled by blackout

Great location. We enjoyed a show at QPAC and had a short walk to restaurants and theatre. We did not have a swim at the beach but it was popular with many families.

Had a power blackout in the morning. Affected all the facilities. We were luckier than most, being on a lower floor. Without lifts we had to use the stairs to get out for breakfast and to checkout. The staff were great but helping people to get up and down the stairs but the blackout affected lights, power in the rooms, showers etc, check in /out, the car garage. Understood that the generator failed when they lost mains power. When we finally checked out at 1030 (still no power and in the dark) I was disappointed that they charged us $50 for valet parking overnight.

Disappointing

Great location but would not stay there again due to the means of escape procedure.

great size room and location

requested early checkin 11am as arriving 9am with child, could not checkin until 2.30. requested room with a nice view of the river, did not get a great view at all. Had power cut early in the morning of our checking out (5.30am). The lifts were not working and when we tried a fire exit the door was locked at the bottom. It was dark and my son was panicking, if there was a fire we would have been in trouble. I phoned reception and was told there was no stair exit from our floor, when asked to speak to the manager I was told there was not a manager in the building and someone would call me back. As we had a plane to catch we had no time to wait for a phone call. A chef appeared in the hallway with a torch to help a lady who was also stuck (she must have phoned the kitchen). He guided us out through another stairwell which took us through a lot of dark areas of the hotel and eventually through the kitchen, was abit of a rabbit warren. Any child, disabled or elderly person could not have done it. This young man from the kitchen was our hero! Really really poor in the event of fire, and with reception not knowing how to exit and telling me there was no way to exit other than the lifts which were not working was really scary. They all seemed abit dazed when we eventually made it to reception. Would not stay here again for this reason.

Superb

We had a very nice stay in the hotel. I recommend it.

Our stay at the hotel was excellent. Very nice hotel with very comfortable, nice rooms . The stuff was very helpful for anything we needed.

I have visited many hotels the last month as I am travelling round Australia. It was the only hotel that charged the On Demand movie channels instead of having it free for their visitors.

Loved the location and the clean rooms would def book again.

Very clean, staff was friendly, great view of the city and Brisbane river, very comfortable.

Nothing that dissapointed me, our stay was great.

Very good

Overall a very good hotel and fitness/pool limitations can be improved easily.

Outstanding service - reception desk and CBD cafe - excellent customer service and great coffee Rooms are huge - important when staying more than a day or two. Very convenient location for the Performing arts centre and for the museums

A very small pool with no refreshments next to the pool during the day. Virtually impossible to use the pool as it is occupied by children most of the time. I understand it may not be possible to enlarge the pool easily, but extending the hours beyond 6 pm and making it off limits to children in the evening would be one idea. Very limited facilities in the gym - only machines with no yoga mats, fitness balls or similar available

Great room, great view but standard that was expected was not delivered.

Amazing view and a great room

Television, Aircon and phones in room did not work and reception were not answering the main phone line so I was unable to get these issues rectified during our stay. There was also a half eaten carrot on the floor of the room when we checked in. I addressed these issues with reception at checkout and nothing was offered to compensate except a very minor apology.
