Paid 5-star rates for a 2-star experience

Apart from the location not much at all.

This hotel is well past its use date. It is time the bathroom was brought into the 21st century. We had a king room, but you would be flat-out swinging a cat in it. There was no air conditioning, which I can understand given the climate. However, the only way to circulate the air was by leaving the windows open, which was a security risk, as the so-called private balcony was accessible to any and everyone.

Location is good. Buffet breakfast was good too.

Rooms are absolute crap. We booked a king room lakeside and room was humid, tiny with no circulation. They just had a hand held fan as alternative. Reception joked about condition of hotel and couldnt do anything further. Our room (M02) was directly opposite toilets and it was a nightmare crossing that stinky corridor. We ended up staying out of the hotel for most part and only stayed for 6-7 hours at night.

Other than restaurant options, the room and location was everything I could have wished for.

Perfect location. Fabulous view. Very comfortable bed. Very clean. Nice and quiet.

Bathroom a little tired. Restaurant menu didn't offer anything to cater to my taste - classic New Zealand dishes. The buffet breakfast was also disappointing. The bacon on the hot buffet was cold and had the texture of cardboard. The fruit selection was also disappointing. I only ate there once. It wasn't worth the price.

Absolute rubbish and a waste of my money !

Positioning .. close to everything

We were given a room that was like a broom cupboard. It was on the ground floor and had no cool air, you had to keep the sliding door open at night to get fresh air with no screen . We had a double bed way too small for a couple, the bed was humpy , the room was pokey and had outdated furnishings. Not worth the money snd when I expressed my concerns I was pretty much fobbed off with I will pass that onto the mangers .. yea sure !

Location was amazing. The staff were the best part. So friendly and welcoming. I also loved the bar. It has great views of the lake.

Disappointing

The room was notably warm and somewhat strenuous. In the absence of a fan, I contacted reception, and they promptly provided one.

1.Too hot and uncomfortable. 2. Upon booking the room through my laptop, I observed that breakfast was purportedly included. However, upon arriving for breakfast the following morning, an additional cost was unexpectedly incurred. Subsequent examination of the booking confirmation revealed the absence of any indication regarding the inclusion of breakfast, creating a deceptive situation. Regrettably, the lack of a screenshot documenting the initial booking details further compounded the issue.
