Very good

Old but still upmarket hotel on the Chao Phraya river

I obviously liked the view. Daily breakfast was quite fresh and tasty. I received very good service from Reception & Housekeeping !

There is no MRT or BTS station nearby

Great location, with some caveats.

Excellent location, friendly staff. Great room with direct view on NYE fireworks.

Smoke detector (or some electronic contraption on the ceiling) flashing a bright green light every few seconds, requiring face masks to be able to get any sleep. Low water pressure and water temperature when showering, when engineering was called they basically said there is nothing they could do. For the price, this was a bit of a bust

Location.

This hotel is not a 5-star hotel. Maybe 20 years ago, it was. It is in serious need of refurbishment. There are better 3/4 star hotels in Bangkok which offer more value. We have no safe in the room despite a drawer named Safety deposit box. there once was one, but it had been removed. The room was booked for 2 People; however, only one robe was in the room. This is a 5-star hotel I would expect the minibar to be readily stocked, but it wasnt. There were also disposable wooden stirrers for coffee and tea making.. not what you would Expect from a 5-star hotel. Where are the spoons? There was also a sizeable damp Stain in the bathroom, which would have been remanence from a leak In the room above. Again. Or what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. Despite speaking to the desk staff twice regarding these issues, we made no progress. Do not book this hotel unless you expect 2/3 star service and value.

Disappointing

Not good value for money

Superb position, on the waterfront. Free ferry to the other side of the river. Nice pools by the river.

When we arrived, the staff didn't help us with luggage and didn't bother to explain us how to get around the numerous hotel facilities. In general, the staff seemed to care more about carrying on their own job rather than genuinely caring for customers. We stayed 1 night on the 30th of December and the hotel was clearly overcrowded due to New Year's Eve celebrations to the point we had to stay in line for 10mins to have breakfast. In a very crowded breakfast buffet, we had to fight elbow-to-elbow to get some food. We happily ran away ahead of time to a quieter place. Definitely not a 5 star hotel experience.
