Very good

The Regency is always a great place to stay while in Portland. You cant beat the location!!

Love this location and the on-site spa. Also breakfast with John is always a pleasure!

The rooms need to be updated. So many other great hotels in the area with modern amenities in the rooms. Its always hit or miss when we stay here, if well get one of the newer rooms or an older one.

Disappointed with the room as staff should have better skills at discerning where guests should stay

The room was beautiful (but definitely the wrong one!! Read on) and the staff very friendly (though not good at certain things, Read on). The location of the hotel are fantastic and it is beautiful; however, our experience was bad. Read on.

I could not be more disappointed with my stay!! They put us in a room with an adjoining room that had a sick toddler and infant who screamed and coughed all night. And, to boot, it is the only room that adjoins in the entire hotel. This was unacceptable. They had plenty of rooms for us to not have an adjoining room at all, never mind with infants and toddlers. The staff should be able to discern that 2 guests in their late 50s shouldn't be put in that situation. Although the room was beautiful, we did not sleep one minute with screaming, crying, coughing children on the other side of an adjoining door. I am not one to write negative reviews, but I am so upset about this, I had to. I've been to Portland many times, always wanted to stay in this hotel, and this is how it went down. Just unacceptable.

At $300+/night it was unimpressive but the location was great.

Good

Portland is a foodie haven.

Excellent location to walk to great restaurants and local shops. The whisky bar lounge is a lovely spot to relax.

The hottub in the spa facility was not working for our stay.

Room was fine

Everything else, terrible, disinterested staff, old outdated lobby, walls, carpet, gym wasnt open and Id expect it from an expensive hotel like this, not enough hot water in the lobby our entire stay, water wasnt even hot for tea, completely overpriced for this old place with bad service. This review is not about old Portland though, the location was amazing and the old city is completely worth visiting!
