No response to my request for early check-in, no hot water, safe didn't work, towels were ancient rags, thin walls, loud doors

Its a two star hotel or lower. The room had horrible moisture mold smell.

24 hour desk, we were able to check in at 1 am

How the place claims that its a 5 star hotel? This hotel is the most a two star hotel. We were given a room on the first floor, without outside window ventilation - the windows were facing inside the corridor. The room had horrible moisture smell. We arrived late and were hoping to sleep in but I couldnt bare the smell and the noise, so I woke up at 7 am to escape it. The room also had a terrible sound isolation. I was able to hear people speak in the corridor like they were actually in the room as well as car noises. Its impossible to sleep here without earplugs. A few other problems: rusty shower-head, rusty mirror, no fridge, broken tile in the rooms floor

Great location and great stay on a budget

Location was perfect, in close walking distance to the beach, stores, restaurants, and the bus terminal. The rooms were basic but fine, with nice showers and ice-cold A/C.

The customer attention that we received was not the greatest. We arrived early in the morning on the ADO bus from Chetumal, and were told beforehand that while we couldnt gain early access to our rooms, we would be able to leave luggage and change our clothes for the beach. We were allowed to do those things, but we were treated as if we were in the way, and were told we were being too loud for the other guests. It was a little off-putting since we were all tired from our travels and in an unfamiliar place. A little more courtesy would have been appreciated.

Nothing at all to make tea/coffee. Not even a glass or cup in the room.

It was bad from beginning

Location was good, close to 5th Avenue and to the beach

When we checkin in our room we find out full of mold in the coffee machine and disgusting dirty blender. We ask to change coffee mashing or give us just pot, but they just send cleaning lady to wash machine which she didn't do well enough! So we didn't use coffee machine and blender, and bought new sponge, because old one was disgusting and they use to wash mold. In the room you will find an envelope asking you to leave a tip. but what's the tip for? even if standard work was performed poorly. The water in the shower is so weak that I couldn't rinse the shampoo out of my hair. and on some days the music played nearby was so loud that the windows shook. but we would turn a blind eye to all this. first time I see such rude and unpleasant staff at the reception, just the older lady. I do not recommend staying in this place unless you want to ruin your vacation. I was so happy when we moved to another place
