A nice place to stay away from the hub bub of town

Gardens are nice staff are very nice the chef was exceptional and came out to talk to us a lot

Water not warm for showering but that coukd have been weather was bad and solar not working

Superb

Convenient and peaceful place to stay in Unawatuna away from main tourist area.

Nice old buildings retaining original character. Peaceful and spacious gardens, despite being on a busy road. Lots of interesting wildlife including birds, langurs and squirrels. Good buffet breakfasts. Easy walk to beach along pleasant shopping strip. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby but very touristy.

Mosquitoes - but thankful for mosquito net. Rooms rather dark.

Lovely heritage hotel crumbling in every way.

The architecture and landscaping is still superb.

This was the premier hotel in Unawatuna, just five years ago; it has declined a lot, in terms of upkeep, food quality and service. Also, there card machines are unreliable - be prepared to pop over to the ATM.

Very good

We had one of the cheaper rooms - but it had all that we needed - a large bathroom good AC and fan - a little patio- but the mosquitoes can be annoying. The gardens and pool were delightful- very courteous staff and a really impressive breakfast. This is also a great location for strolling the main street with restaurants and shops. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Room could use a little refresh and a place to put your clothes.

Nice staff, relaxed place.

Breakfast was cold on both mornings. Budget room was ok but bathroom floor a bit dirty. Very noisy room in the mornings as the budget rooms are next to the kitchen so you can hear the staff working and chatting from 6am onwards, even with ear plugs on.
