A peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the streets of Jaipur

Le Fort Homestay is a little oasis in frenetic Jaipur. It has a lovely terrace to sit quietly with a drink, and eat right next to the fort walls, as well as enjoy a great view out to Jaipur city from the roof top, and watch the locals fly their paper kites from their rooftops. The cook is excellent, we loved everything he created from fresh, which was top quality. Our host was very helpful and knowledgeable about what to do, as well as organising our train travel to our next destination. It is also a good place to have your laundry done.

Myself and my girlfriend have been travelling in India for a few days and once reached Le Fort we really felt like we could recharge our batteries and have a proper relaxing stay in a super clean and very well working room, something not so easy to find in pur experience. The staff is super welcoming,very attentive and with many suggestions and advice on what to do around Jaipur so really couldnt have asked for anything better! A bit sad to leave but the adventure goes on, only wish i could take the room and staff with us on the rest of our journey!

Hot water only lasts 2 minutes and the owner will not help

This is a quiet and clean property. The refrigerator and TV both work well. This is a spacious and nice room. They have daily housekeeping. Good safe location.

The shower could be good and looks nice. The biggest problem is in room five, the hot water heater runs out of hot water after 2 minutes and becomes cold. You have to turn the water off for 5 minutes and then you get another 2 minutes of hot water just to finish rinsing. I saw that several others reviewed with the same issue (likely the same room), but I was shocked at how bad it is! Both of us are very low maintenance and take very quick showers. We have traveled to many third world countries and Never had an issue like this! The owner is unwilling to fix this, so be aware. Just look at his responses to his reviews. Nothing changes or improves. We have dealt with water heaters even smaller that last the entire shower so there is definitely something wrong. Aditionally, the towels consistently smelled extra terrible. We have No foreign transaction fees of any sort on our credit card, but as you know, you have to pay in the local currency, otherwise you receive a dynamic currency conversion which is a huge percentage fee. Either pay in cash or make absolutely sure he is charging you in rupees, because he charged us in US dollars without our authorization, which no one else has done in any country we have traveled in the last 8 months. Everyone knows not to pay in anything but local currency so you don't receive the huge fee from the company's processor. He likely did this so he could get more money. He did tell us he thinks it is okay to scam people so long as they can afford to pay the extra. Once we saw this overage, we confronted him so he agreed to pay back the overcharge. Then, he did not refund the entire amount. Once he saw my initial review, he responded very rudely much like he has with any other review and even later proceeded to try to tell booking.com that I did not pay the full amount and demanded I repay the overcharge. This was of course incorrect and I had proof. Just know that if you have issues, he will turn on you and not be professional.

Amazing place to stay.

Its very cute small hotel, with beautiful clean and very nicely decorated room. The best was heated floor - I was there in december and nights got really cold in Jaipur, so it was a real treat! I also had one dinner from the resaturant on the rooftop and it was delicious. Very hot shower with strong water stream, kettle in the room - full comfort! Owner is super kind and friendly, responding very quickly. All together - great stay, I would be definetely coming back.

The only only thing that I would prefer different is that in my room there was only one dark window, so there wasnt much daylight coming inside. But its not a very big deal.

Absolutely recommended!

We felt welcome at the place. The owner told us we could do the checkin after settling down. The room was really clean and beautifully decorated. All staff were kind, helpful and nice. The place was really peaceful and quiet at night. The food at the rooftop was fresh and delicious. We will miss having the shakshuka for breakfast!
