Superb

Great value for the money!

The location is good, 6-7 minutes away from center, quite area and clean neighbourhood. I was impressed with the property features, very cosy and amazingly maintained , the staff were professional and welcoming, the breakfast was super good. Overall the service and the hotel were an amazing experience and a splendour taking you back in centuries, I will definitely go back when I will visit again Edinburgh, highly recommended.

Disappointing

Disappointment at Christmas

The main living room is pretty. Nice fireplace

Where do I start For the hugely expensive price I paid, I expected a LOT more than what I received. The complimentary sherry smelled of chlorine so I avoided it, and no shortbread was provided which was quite disappointing especially as I stayed over Christmas. I had a simple request before arrival which was ignored as they dont seem to monitor their email. The room got cold at night - admittedly I am quite sensitive to cold but there was only one small radiator in the corner and its a large old room. I asked the staff for an extra blanket and was told there was none (in scotland in winter? Ridiculous oversight). Ended up sleeping with it folded over like I was in a hostel or something. Bath water only ran piping hot, no cold water TV was set up facing away from the bed (towards the door) which was bizarre. The front door key is the same one for rooms, which made me a bit wary of security and safety. All in all, if youre looking for a character filled place to stay in Edinburgh, Im sure youll find a lot better at this price point.

We had a lovely weekend it was very nice to get away and chill together.

The location was excellent and had free parking which was a bonus, We spent a weekend arriving Friday morning, the staff were lovely and were great from the minute we arrived, We had breakfast included, which was lovely. I had pancakes next on Sunday which were out of this world. Me and my partner throughly enjoyed our stay.

The only thing we didnt really like was being up on the very top floor, we would have liked a room on a lower floor.
