Alright but won't be coming back

Two people definitely worth mentioning - Daina who worked as a waitress on the beach, extremely kind and polite and always in a good mood and helpful, only person we actually considered tipping, and Edardo (I think this was his name, apologies if I got it wrong - gentleman with longer hair, working as a waiter) in the restaurant above the pool - both were highlights of the trip. Now for the bad news: The location is fine although there are much nicer beaches in quintana roo. the food options are ok, most of it was tasty. but my bf is gluten free and he struggled to get clarity from waiting staff on what was and wasn't safe for him to eat. for example they'd say everything on the menu was safe, but it had pizzas and hamburgers which are obviously not safe. then they'd say everything with a yellow "gluten friendly" sticker was safe, but none of the meals had that sticker. then they said that actually everything WITHOUT the "gluten friendly" sticker was safe, which made zero sense. all in all, an unnecessary hassle which made us unable to relax and enjoy, even though everyone else praised the hotel for its allergy awareness. also, it's not worth paying for a room facing the beach cause they start mowing the lawns in the morning which is quite loud and annoying. yes they do it every morning.

staff knowledge of allergies, cleanliness - we had an animal poo in front of our room and it took the hotel 24 hours to clean it. also the hotel flags tips are included in pricing but staff ask for tips. and we realised we weren't getting our mini fridge refilled because we weren't tipping the staff, which again - i know a lot of americans go there and it's in their culture to tip, but it shouldn't be a given, mexico shouldn't be taking this as granted from their guests, especially considering the hotel is quite expensive as is + the website clearly says tips are included in price of stay.

We will be back as soon as possible!

Augustine at Lola beach cafe was phenomenal As well as Diana assisting us at our beach cabana.

Only things out of our entire stay that werent fantastic. 1) Chilaquiles at breakfast were a 6 out of 10. 2) New Years Eve performance and music was a 6 out of 10.

Hibachi & Italian restaurant were very good (we got the lobster dish extra $ but worth it) The snack bar was decent We upgraded to the room with private pool + butler and it was very nice and big Room was very clean The beach and pool areas were great

There was barely entertainment -most resorts I have been to are much more lively this was very quiet all day long The buffet was not good at all Coffee was not good We are smokers so (only applicable to smokers)you cant smoke on your own balcony must walk to smoking section (2 designated areas in the resort) Butler was very nice and friendly accommodating but did not really need one at all We could not get a sushi reservation during our stay Alcohol tasted very watered down

Disappointing

The most average five star all-inclusive hotel with poor quality of drink and food

The staff were really nice

The drinks were awful, I cannot understand how they could get the taste wrong for the most basic cocktails every single time. The food in every restaurant was so bad and the quality was poor, the room amenities werent great, for a five star all-inclusive they didnt even have toothbrush and they asked us to buy them from the shop! The shows at night wasnt at the time they were supposed to be and the quality was shocking

Amazing and cant wait to come back!!

Staff was wonderful! Our second visit and we cant wait to go back! The rooms are lovely and views are great no matter what side of hotel youre on. Food is great with fun options! Try the wood fired pizza by the beach! Capri grille and buffet are fantastic. Shoutout to Carla & Mili for arranging fun events, Capri grilles chef Luis and Alejandro are amazing , Jorge at the pool bar and Rolfi in the buffet are fantastic!!

Nothing! Maybe eventually another restaurant option?
