Very good

The team is very professional and friendly. The room was very clean with all the necessary items.

The hotel needs some work in terms of furniture and decorations etc. The street that takes you to the hotel needs some work. But all in all the hotel was clean and the room was comfortable.

Good mid range accommodation in central Ella.

I had a very comfortable bed, good sized room and the Sri Lankan breakfast was really great. Very friendly staff and nice rooftop breakfast room.

There was no safe in the room and the reception was often left unattended so I took the room key and valuables with me. The property only takes cash which was a bit inconvenient as I thought I had paid through the app.

Disappointing

Could've been much nicer.

Close to Ella center. Helpful and polite staff. The view from the restaurant was great. The room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was freshly cooked. The stairway to, as well as the restaurant looks good and is pleasant to spend time in - you can see that a fair amount of money was put into the hotel but has very poor upkeep.

The room was dirty (blood on the mosquito net, squished bugs everywhere, dirty floors, fridge), very very damp (including the bedding and mouldy bed headboard, all our clothes got very damp, ceilings are covered with mould, not mentioning the bathroom), and smelly (strong mould as well as bug / moth repellent smell, that did not disappear after opening the windows for hours), they only accept cash on checkout (have plenty ready), the path to the hotel is really unpleasant, the nearby club is very loud at night (until 2-3am) and it was difficult to sleep.

Very good

Ella Soul is a nice place to stay while in Ella - very appropriate value for the money. It was an easy walk to the main street in Ella (though bring a flashlight for walking at night) and really appreciated that laundry service was right next door.

Some of the rooms come with refrigerators but neither room (two rooms for a group of friends) had one during our stay, which would have been nice. We knew it was cash only when making the booking, but always appreciate when lodging choices (which is often the most expensive part of trips) take cards, especially when it has wifi and readily done throughout much of the country. Also, no a/c for those who would prefer it.

Superb

We had very nice stay in Ella, breakfasts were delicious served with amazing view, as its on top of the building. Room was spacious and personnel was very nice.

There were few blackouts during our stay, but I believe thats not the hotels fault. There was no hot water twice due to these problems. We noticed that you need to put the sign on your room door asking for cleaning the room. Once we put it out and our room was not cleaned when we came back, so that was a bit disappointing having in mind that only 3 rooms were booked at this time.
