Good Value and it included breakfast.

The accomodation is up a incredibly steep hill. This is not mentioned in the description, a tuktuk cannot reach the accomodation. The dog was very agressive on arrival and had to be dragged away from the owner. The dog continued to bark at passberys for the duration of our stay both in the day and during the night.

Nice location, breakfast ok , friendly hosts but...

Please throw away those moldy pillows. We got other ones when we asked but they shouldn't have been there in the first place. I think the mattress is also pretty worn and should be replaced. This is really not a healthy sleep environment and I hope this is fixed for future guests... Place is on a hill and its steep but if you have good legs it is not a problem.

Feels like leaving home. I can only recommend!

I spend 6 nights at Arazo villa in December 2023. Since the first moment it really felt like home, being situated just about 10 minutes walk from the Unawatuna beach yet still very quiet and in the middle of jungle. It is a beautiful clean villa owned by amazing and caring Sri lankan lady who was trully like a mum to me. She is a great cook, will prepare huge delicious breakfasts, lunch, dinner, whatever you need. Her son helps her with everything so the communication was very smooth and easybefore my arrival too, I even came 1 day in advance and it was not a problem. You will love local dogs Tutu and Jimmy who was like my security. It was trully local experience which is hard to find in busy touristy Unawatuna. Doing business there is not easy for locals, so if you can, come to stay at Arazo villa, you will be rewarded by fair price, warm welcome, friendly atmosphere created by like minded people, great food and warm smiles. From practical side, the wifi and hot water are there with occasional blackouts which is typical for this location, the rooms are basic but totally sufficient for the cost of it. Supermarket, restaurant, beach with sunbeds and bus stop are just about 10mins walk away. The hill is there but nothing too big, you can always use tuktuk if you are too tired to walk up there, but if you are not disabled this will nto be an issue. Last but not least they provide taxi services and they gave me a ride for tuktuk price so it is really worth booking with them. Saying goodbye was not easy and I will miss this place greatly!

The rooms are clean and basic, however could use a bit of touch up, e.g. toilet paper holder was broken, the carpets have seen better days and could be replaced by new ones, my matrace was very soft and it would be nice to have a proper sheet to cover up instead of the blanket that was there, maybe some more decorations to make the room look a bit more welcoming, however neither of theese bothered me at all and you can take it just as small suggestions on improvements for future. I still think it was definitely worth the price. Beware if you come at the weekend, once a month there is a big party at Unawatuna beach until morning hours, so all Unawatuna is awake that night due to the noise, but this is not the fault of accomodation and if coming to Unawatuna you should expect that this is party, vibrant and touristy place and there is some music happening at the beach every evening.

Lovely big room with everything you need and more. Tv etc. Very clean. Huge breakfast. Such a lovely lady owner. I had a veggie curry one night cooked by the lady herself. Beautiful. Wish I had had more time because I would have definitely done one of her cookery courses.

I liked everything. But I think people should be aware of the steep road to the villa. No good if you have mobility problems. However, there is always a tuk tuk that can get you most of the way.

We loved staying at Arazo Villa. The lady and her son that run the villa were absolutely lovely. We stayed here for 5 days, the breakfast was really good and slightly different each day. We loved the mixture of Sri Lankan breakfasts on offer. We also had our laundry done here which was super efficient.

There were a lot of flies around while eating (but then again it is only natural!)
