Good for a short and affordable stay

Good communication with host, comfy bed and clean room.

Found it hard to locate our room/bathrooms when we first arrived in the dark. We also had people trying to get into our room at 4am so believe they must've been confused too. Signs on the doors would've been useful!

Perfect house with charme, pity that common rooms were used for storage and parking situation bad.

First of all, this is a splendid house - all period, fireplaces not locked up (but also not stocked, and it wasn't necessary because the heating was good), full of style! The rooms are spacious, and the shared bathroom is kept immaculate, I didn't feel uncomfortable at all, and my extra towels for showering at work - just in case - staid in the car. Guests can use the downstairs kitchen which is also spacious, and a common room. Internet is ok, sufficient for watching tellie!

Now it is all self service, I never saw the hosts - which is fine, because the access is well explained in advance. The nice common room and kitchen are used for drying the linen and towels, which takes away from the nice atmosphere. No other guest actually sat down in the dining room (just as well, as in the spirit of saving energy I had not heated my room during the day, and it was freezing - so I was better off working in the kitchen) Parking is difficult - there are always spaces, but payment is only for 3 hours, and free parking from midnight to 7 am - this meant I didn't get much sleep, as arriving at 9, then fixing dinner and departing at 7 am. Parking is best by the "app", I didnt see any machine, but spotted a controller in the morning at 7:10. One specific hint: it was difficult to get the towels dry - I improvised and used two of the hangers as towel dryer. Why not add one of those over-heater dryers, especially in winter, and for stays longer than one or two nights?
