The Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines had a rocky start with a reservation issue, but the staff resolved it and provided excellent service. They were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to assist, (Read More) turning a potential disaster into a lovely experience. The bar had reasonably priced cocktails and the overall staff, from the front desk to the management, provided five-star service. The valet and porter staff were phenomenal, and the hotel itself was lovely, with beautiful coastal views and well-done wedding arrangements.

Staff, ambiance, food, room, balcony, bed all were terrific Breakfast was fantadtic and dinner was quite good too.

The pool itself was freezing cold and nobody went in. I had called the hitel directly and they said it was heated to 86 degrees and they had bar and food service open. Neither was true!!! We relaxed bybthe beautiful pool area but very uoset that I was misled especially when it's 80 degrees outside!!

Great location and Good breakfast buffet.

We enjoyed the view from our room. Renting the room with the breakfast included was a great idea because it was delicious. Went for a nice hike at Torrey Pines.

Parking was more expensive than usual and the resort fee was for what? Overcrowded small pool too many kids. Too noisy for a couple to enjoy away from their own kids.

It is a very convenient location to UCSD and La Jolla. The room was very well soundproofed. The beds were very comfortable.

The parking is very expensive, as is the breakfast. The hotel furnishings are a little dinged up.

Location is great, walking distance to Torrey Pines Reserve.

Check-in receptionist was pretty unpleasant from the moment we stepped up to the desk, despite our smiles, which pretty much set the tone for the stay. My dad, a teacher, is pretty unflappable but even he walked away and made a comment about her bad attitude. Not exactly the caliber of service youd expect from such a location. Facilities are dated, though comfortable, but our room looked out on the patio/pool area and the music from the bar was audible despite closed doors. The killer was that the parking fee was astronomically expensive, an unfortunate surprise. $40/night for a damp, dank underground parking lot. We stayed at another Hilton property in the area the night before, $17 for parking, thats reasonable. Honestly, if I had known (the amount is not listed anywhere on the hotels booking.com page), we would have stayed somewhere else. Thank god we only stayed one night, the gentleman checking in next to us was unfortunately staying for three and was equally saddened by the realization that hes be paying $120 for parking alone. Its not like its in an area where you can find alternative parking, so this is obviously the hotel price gouging. It made the room deal we thought wed found on booking.com end up more expensive than alternative properties and, after the lackluster stay, we left feeling a bit cheated.
