A family of 4 adults , we were getting together after a long time to spend some quality time together! Destination Srilanka !!
Booked Axio Travels as Mr Nissanka gave us a good price, was honest in h (Read More)is approach and communicated well.
A few incidents have made me give this agency 'average' rating.
First incident - Just one day before our travel, which was on New Year's eve, I got a call from Axio saying our hotel for that night got cancelled. We were all packed and ready, but hotel availability was really tough. What to do? Unfortunately, the travel agent could not find us suitable bookings and it was because of my daughter's efforts that we managed to get a decent place to stay at such a busy time of the year. We took it all calmly. But I think a last minute cancellation news like that should definitely be avoided.
I had assumed the driver would be our tour guide as well. Though he was a helpful, pleasant, cool and friendly person, I wish he had given us some background of the history of his country and more details about the places we visited.
The second incident was the break down of the vehicle on day 6. It took a lot of time to get a replacement vehicle to get to Colombo for the last leg of our trip. 3 hours waiting by the side of the road was not what we wanted, but we took this calmly as well.
Overall the intentions of this travel agency are good and especially the communication from Nissanka was excellent. The pricing is more reasonable than other agents. The vehicle for the first 6 days was good.
I would suggest that you book with this agency because of their honesty and take any unexpected incident calmly.

A group of Senior Citizens from India in the age group of 65-74 wanted to have a trip to Sri Lanka with a mix of leisure and temple visits. Our group consisting 3 male and 3 female members were not pl (Read More)anning for any trekking or adventurous visits. We conveyed our requirement to Messrs. AXIO and insisted that there should be no early morning check-outs and hurrying up immediately after the breakfast. Understanding our requirements and limitations because of age, they suggested an itinerary for 8 Nights and 9 Days taking into account the places and attractions we wanted to visit.
Our interaction started with Mr. Nissanka, from Messrs. AXIO Colombo.
The total itinerary was fully tailor-made to suit our taste. We chose the places we wanted to visit and he planned it.
After 4 to 5 iterations, the travel plan was finalised, which was mutually agreed upon including the Hotels for the stay at the end of the day. Apart from the Road Journey, we wanted to have a Train Journey experience which was readily agreed to by Messrs. AXIO accepting to undertake the responsibility of reservation for us.
Instead of landing and commencing our journey from Colombo, we chose to start our tour from Jaffna and Messrs. AXIO readily agreed to pick us up from Jaffna Airport and commence our tour.
Mr. Nissanka a soft spoken gentleman aged around 45, whom we do not know previously, was always very polite, amicable and positive throughout our entire interaction from beginning – collecting information and communicating with us viz. Visa, Forex etc. This was our first visit to the island and Mr. Nissanka himself offered to receive us at Jaffna, a gesture which really impressed us.
Following are worth mentioning of Messrs. AXIO.
• Selection of Hotels with Breakfast & Dinner.
• Check-in into Hotels was hassle free as Messrs. AXIO did the reservation meticulously and confirmed the reservations well in advance to us.
• Dedicated Chauffer driven air-conditioned 8 Seater van.
• Picking up and Dropping our luggage in every place of stay considering our age and even keeping count of them.
Driver Mr. Guna Rathna in short “Gune” who enjoys his profession was very friendly and had lot of patience.
The required deposit was a comfortable sum in USD through Bank transaction and the entire balance amount was paid on arrival.
In short, we loved everything about Sri Lanka, a clean and serene island with a fertile land and friendly people, lovely places and gardens to visit and the food.
It was a memorable experience.
That was possible because Mr. Nissanka of AXIO Travels believes in total customer satisfaction.
We have no hesitation to say that Messrs. AXIO Travels did a good job in making our journey comfortable & pleasant and rate them 4.8 out of % Grading.
We wish Mr. Nissanka and his team a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year 2024.

Axio travel did a fantastic job from day one starting with discussing pur trips needs, types of hotels , what to see in a day etc. We went back a (Read More)nd forth with various options and Nissanka had a solution for everything. We tool a week to decide an itinerary and hotels but he was patient and helpful. The driver was sweet and nice, always with smile and water bottles for us ...had time to sit and chat and would stop at any time for a break when we asked. 1) Some of the hotels were not good.
2) Few hotels not good food, we specifically asked for veg food but it was not good.
3) Driver took us to places where his commission was fixed like his choice o (Read More)f spice garden, safari, etc.
4) We were entitled for 04 water bottle per day, i told driver to keep all the bottles by our seat but then also i have to ask him again and again everyday.

My husband and I, planned a 7D 8N trip to sri lanka and it was the best descision.
Nishanker was very helpful in customising the itinerary for us as we wanted and altered it multiple times according (Read More) to our request.
He also delivered everthing that we requested.
At sri lanka we were picked up by kapillan the tour guide. He was also very helpful in taking us around and showing places. The highlight our trip was yala national park and our guide who drove the jeep ensured we saw all the animals including the leapord without hesitance.
In conclusion we loved everything about sri lanka, from the people to the nature and food.
I will definitely recommend Axio travels.

Contacted Trip Crafter and was referred to 3 tour companies, among which I tried my luck on Axio Travel, having noted their prompt response and the favourable reviews on trip advisor, although Axio se (Read More)emed to be a smaller outfit compared to the others. Initially we sought for a guide and van hire as one of our group member had mapped out an itinerary for 11 night and 12 days. Nissanka (Nissan Car), who responded with their quote also put forth a full package - Hotels accommodation with full breakfast and some with dinners included( turnout to be international buffet style) , English speaking guide cum driver and a van. We did a quick costing comparison ( van hireage cum driver/guide plus own accommodation arrangements vs the full package) and noted that, both were about the same costing. We decided on taking the full package. The required deposit was a comfortable sum of USD 300 and the balance be paid on arrival. ( This is important to us as we did not have any dealings with Axio prior).
We we're met by Nissanka at the airport and presented with each a garland made of seashells by the guide cum driver Harsha ( Harry is his short name for our convenience). Harry is a caring and accommodating and we enjoyed his company. Nissanka as it turnout is one of the bosses of Axio. During our touring Nissanka called to check how we are getting on and he met us on the last leg of the tour to gather our feedback. According to Harry, Nissanka checked with him nightly on the progress of the tour.
We we're rather impressed with the way Axio conduct their touring business.
The hotels chosen were well appointed with good amenities and good food.
Have recommended Axio to couple of friends whom have enquired about our trip.

I had a fabulous holiday with my five year old son. Nissanka contacted me immediately after I first enquired about a tour and kept in touch all the way through. He is friendly, polite, easy to talk to (Read More) and was happy to accomodate changes and answer questions.
Waruna was our tour guide and driver. He is passionate and knowledgeable about his country and showed us so many things in the time we were there.
Waruna picked us up each morning and drove us to each destination, happily stopping for photos, slight detours if I needed to buy something etcetera. Bottled water was provided each day. Air conditioned, comfortable car.
Affordable tour, absolute value for money.
I felt totally safe at all times as a single woman travelling with a child.
My son and I saw so many wonderful things, including ancient village practices of making food. Many animals, plants, trees, so many varieties, including Minneriya National Park - elephants! And other animals - eagle, peacock, crocodile, monkeys, and many more. Tea fields, Beautiful caves venerating Buddha. Train ride. Tuk Tuk. And more.
Waruna was never stuck for naming a plant or an animal or answering a question starting with 'why is?' or 'what is?'. Courteous, friendly, full of knowledge, he created a relaxed atmosphere. My son immediately felt comfortable as did I. It should be noted that Waruna is a superb driver - a huge plus in a country with a lot of traffic at times.

We planned our trip thru Axio travels after exploring all the options and iteneary individually.
I got in touch with Nissanka and the complete tour was designed after my discussion.Trust me I got my (Read More)money worth as looking out for the luxury hotels with Half Board for 4 pax and travel in a comfortable 8 seater Toyota halles would have costed more if I would have planned my tour on my own.
Now coming on the service. From pick up from airport on 9th June at Bandaranaike intl airport till the drop on 16th June every thing was so exiting and organised. Our chauffeur Mr S. Raja was a very well mannered very professional experienced guide. I must appreciate his patience as he had almost all the answers of my never ending questions about Srilanka it’s culture places travel routes delicacy political situations foreign investments economy etc.Becides this he ensured that my parents are comfortable while traveling. He got us to the best of local Srilankan delicacy joints and pure vegetarian for lunch on the way which was fresh and amazing, with the bill for 5 people not exceeding more than 600 rs Lkr.
It was a delight for my vege parents and wife having local pure veg lunch every day as dinner was always a part of hotel menu were Veg food was limited to in the platter.
However before hand It was communicated to the hotels for breakfast and dinner the options of veg food were required which was well taken care off by Axio travels.

Customers delight: Colombo city tour was not in our itinerary. As we was heading towards airport and having couple of hour in our hands for the flight back to Mumbai, Raja took us thru Colombo city (40 km) off route and we completed the sightseeing that was on the way.
The other delight factor was our trip to Ella from Nanu oya by train and service rendered is worth mentioning.Raja ensured dropping us till the train starts. This train trip was done only by me and my wife as my parents felt comfortable to travel by car.In our absence they were well taken care off and on the way. He took them to few places to visit on the way like Seeta Eliya Seeta Agni Pariksha Place Lunch at their Prefered place and more over some souvenir shops for them to buy as insisted by my mother.He then picked up frn and my wife from Bandarawella station which is 1 stop before Ella.
Now on the hotels that were booked for our stay.The choices were given by me after exploring on the various travel sites and reading reviews on trip advisor.Pinnawala- ***Elephant Bay>*** Elephas resort & spa- sigiriya> ***The oak ray Tea bush- Ramboda ( 2 nights)> ****The chaarya resort & spa - Yala >**** Pandunas resort & Spa - Bentota (2 nights).The property selected were good and few changes were done by Nissanka offering a better deal at the same cost. For e.g. upgrading to the 4 * property as mentioned above.
It was over all a great experience and would recommend to do explore your options and then finally provide your outline of the iteneary to Nissanka and rest can be taken care of by him.I can bet you will have your Monies worth ..

My tour guide who accompanied me for 7 nights was Kapila and I honestly can't give this man enough credit! The best tour guide you can hope for- knowledgeable, proper, polite, genuine, amazing driver and a reliable hiking partner.
I am a female solo traveller, it's very important for me to feel safe and well taken care of, and these guys did an amazing job! I am sending my family in the next few months and I promised to climb Adam's Peak with Kapila and so I'm training hard for it.
Srilanka is magic, if you're thinking about it, please do visit! People are genuine, nice, humble, authentic and the country has a very strong positive vibes. I love it, I love the people and I will return very very soon!

Me and my friend were clear on places which we need to see in SriLanka, Nissanka planned a good customized itinerary for us based on our needs and interest. Extremely prompt replies and followups and (Read More)very well adjusted the money currency while booking the trip.
The driver and our tour guide had good knowedge on flora, fauna and geographical history of the country and kept us updated on the interesting facts.
All the hotels provided had a breathtaking view specially the one provided in Bentota.

We got in touch with Nissanka from Axio only a couple of days before arrival (the email on the website that we'd used wasn't correct - it should be [email protected] rather than .com), but once we tr (Read More)ied again via the contact form, the service was incredibly prompt. We'd already planned our route (Colombo>Kandy>Sirigaya>Kandy>Nuwara Eliya>Ella>Tissa>Tangalle>Mirissa>Galle>Colombo) and booked hotels, but Nissanka was able to provide a competitive quote for a driver and answer all my questions. We couldn't have been happier with our driver Nuwan. He drove safely, was a wealth of information, always on time or early, and really went above and beyond what we would have expected of a driver. He even did all 3 hikes with us in Ella to save us having to get a local guide! Not to mention buying us local treats by the roadside, suggesting sights of interest that we mightn't have known about, helping us procure tickets on the safari, train and whale watching, and always coming into our hotels to help liaise with staff and ensure everything was perfect when we were checking in. It was like travelling with a good friend rather than a stranger - we hope he comes to Sydney so we can show him around here someday!

It was a truly out of the world experience that we had during our trip arranged and coordinated by axio travels.
The best part is that Nissanka who organised everything was extremely patient with our (Read More) requests and modified our itinerary according to our requests multiple times without any hesitance.
The entire trip was very well coordinated and we didn't have to bother about anything.
Our driver and guide Mr Raja was also well informed about the routes and made sure that we had ample time to cover all the major tourist destination.
Would highly recommend axio travels to anyone who is planning a trip to the cinnamon island (srilanka previous name)
Would wish they had their services extended to other countries too.

Nissanka has been an absolute star organising our accommodation. We tried this online ourselves first but this was very frustrating and time consuming as we needed our children in the rooms with us an (Read More)d that is not always possible and as a result we needed to contact each hotel ourselves to discuss this. But Nissanka organised it all for us with great skills and for a better price than we could have done ourselves. During our travels he was also always on hand for questions and help. I would thoroughly recommend his services.

Nissanka from Axio provided a very good itinerary for a 2 week trip through Sri Lanka. The vehicle provided was in excellent condition and always clean. Our driver and guide Mr Waruna has very good kn (Read More)owledge of history and was able to provide very good tour guidance throughout. He is also an excellent driver and our road journeys were very comfortable and safe. Mr Nissanka is extremely helpful and is always on standby to provide any help or assistance you may need. He also recommended and reserved all our hotel accommodation. Although most of their recommended hotels are very good, travelers should do their own research as some of the hotels may not meet accommodation and food quality expectations.
