Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 IXB/NJP to Gangtok

On arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), our representative will warmly welcome you and assist you to the vehicle for your journey to Gangtok. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, lush tea gardens, waterfalls, and picturesque mountain valleys. Upon reaching Gangtok, check in at the hotel and relax. We recommend an early sleep for the next day's tour. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Start early with a heavy breakfast before heading to Tsomgo Lake (Alt 12,000 ft), a high-altitude alpine lake near the Indo-China border. The 1 km long, 15-meter-deep sacred lake remains frozen during winter. Enjoy the serene surroundings, play in the snow, and try a yak ride. Next, visit the legendary Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, dedicated to an Indian soldier believed to continue his duty even after his demise.

Return to the hotel for a late lunch. In the evening, explore MG Marg, a vehicle-free shopping and leisure area perfect for a stroll. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Optional Tour: Nathula Pass (Alt 14,000 ft) at the Indo-China border can be arranged (except Mondays) for Indian nationals only, with a 10-day advance request at an additional cost. (Subject to availability).
Documents Required: Original ID proof + 2 photocopies + 4 passport-size photos.

Post breakfast, embark on a half-day sightseeing tour of Gangtok, covering:

  • Ropeway (cable car ride)
  • Government Institute of Cottage Industry (Closed on Sundays & 2nd Saturdays)
  • Orchid House Flower Show
  • Sikkim Research Institute of Tibetology
  • Do-drul Chorten (stupa)

After the city tour, depart for Darjeeling, halting at Teesta Bazaar on the way. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Wake up early at 4:00 AM for a sunrise visit to Tiger Hill (Alt 8,400 ft), where you can witness breathtaking views of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the surrounding Himalayan ranges. On your return, visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop (famous for its spiral railway track and war memorial)

After breakfast, continue with sightseeing at:

  • Darjeeling Zoo & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursdays)
  • Happy Valley Tea Estate (Outer view)
  • Tenzing Rock & Gombu Rock (rock climbing sites)
  • Tibetan Refugee Center (Closed on Sundays)
  • Japanese Temple & Peace Pagoda

Evening at leisure to explore the local culture, shops, and cuisine. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

After breakfast, head towards Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station. Optional detour via Mirik Lake offers breathtaking views of tea gardens, Sumendu Lake, and the surrounding mountains. Enjoy boating & horse riding (on a direct payment basis).

A short visit to Pashupati Market (Nepal border) can also be arranged (requires an extra vehicle). Note: You need to show valid ID proof to cross the border.

Finally, proceed to IXB/NJP for your onward journey, carrying unforgettable memories of the Northeast.

7 Day Tour of Darjeeling & Gangtok

We, family of 9, went on a 7 day’s tour to Darjeeling & Gangtok. This tour was arranged by North East Tours represented by Mr. Kamesh. 1. Kamesh ji have us a very nice itenary covering all the key p (Read More)laces. The itenary was nicely spaced out always dropping us back in the hotel by 4:30 pm which gave us time to relax. Kamesh ji was always available for us through out the trip on both phone and wats app which was very helpful. 2. Hotels: The hotel provided in Darjeeling “Udaan Himalayan Suites” was the best we have ever stayed in. Rooms, food with live quality music were too good. We were surprised that such a big hotel was purely vegetarian. Hotel staff were too cordial and ever smiling. The hotel provided at Gangtok was above average. 3.Drivers: we had around 5-6 drivers. All of them were well behaved and soft spoken which was not the case with our previous trips. They were well aware of all the routes. 4. Other agents: All the other agents were always in touch with us and ensured that that was no delays or minimal delays which extremely good. 5. I will definitely recommend North East Tours to all my friends.

unprofessional attitude

We booked our holidays thru northeast tours and its one mr.kameshwar. Once we made the payment , our point of contact was no more kameshwar but some nishant and mantosh. we were facing issues of badly (Read More) maintained cars / drivers coming late , unprofessional and fatigued drivers etc but request to resolve was met with absolute denial by kameshwar and we where pointed out of the fine print language in the offer. Wonder if this agency is into service sector or legal service. Absolutely unprofessional and definitely non reliable ...

That is why we have Sales team like Kameshwar, Salim, Vicky, Sandeep etc n dedicated service team like Mantosh, Nashant, Sonam etc. This is why your point of contact after arriving here was Mr. Mantosh. We understand that this region has some unique rules other than any other hill station of India. Likely or unlikely we should respect every state / local rules.
After a long pandemic period, we have seen such a huge rush of tourist at all destinations that every car n hotels are sold out. Even in such a rush time, we manage to satisfy almost our every guest. But there are some things which are beyond our / human control like traffic, mechanical issue , weather etc.
However I would like to request to every review reader, Please once read the notes mentioned in our quotation. It will help you to understand the difference between this region and other hill stations of India. And our every person from our team will help you to understand every sentence mentioned in the itinerary also. This will help to build a good relation between us and make your tour more smoother.
Lastly I would like to clear that please do not threat us to damage our image in social or public platform because no one get benefits of this and then we will work more professionally and according to itinerary only. But yes we do extra only for the person who is nice and respect others. Respected sir you know that 01 lady from your group abused our driver so badly that he left the service n return to Gangtok from Pelling at late night. Some how we manage another car by late night as next day you have to drop at airport. We will not accept this and condemned it strongly.

Best Trip ever booked by Agency

We are kind of travel freaks and we always prefer to book everything by ourselves. But this time we were only 2 people and had managed to get last minute train tickets to njp. So we thought of North S (Read More)ikkim trip(Gangtok,lachen, gurudongmer, lachung,Gangtok) and to make everything easy at the last minute we opted for this travel agency based on their reviews. They provided very good deal, good hotels with food packages at great locations, provided good cab service, very good driver and all other things were neat and hassle free. Mr. Kameswar was always very helpful and responsive. Both me and my husband are really happy with their service and will want to book our next trip with them going forward. The only thing which I felt could have been better, was to let us know in advance, regarding the room heater policy in lachen and lachung from his end. Actually due to Sikkim govt's rule, no hotels are permitted to provide room heater, electric kettle in lachen, lachung. But we did not know this in advance. Knowing the same, we could have made some alternative arrangements on our own. Other than that everything was perfect. Hope to book further trips with them.

Good vacation

We had a package for 2 people in Darjeeling and Gangtok. The overall experience is good as our coordinator Kameshwar was quite responsive and helping. The only issue we faced was with the first hotel (Read More)which is Udaan Himalayan Suites in Darjeeling. Since it was relatively new, the staff seemed to be pretty untrained and the lift wasn't working for almost most of our stay. Rest northeast tour provided a good service and we can definitely choose them for an amazing experience in the northeast

Our agent Kameshwar Ray arranged everything exactly as mentioned in the itinerary for a group of four. Throughout the trip (8nights-9days Sikkim+Darjeeling), the agent was in contact and responded imm (Read More)ediately whenever we needed assistance. Except for the hotel "Blue Pine" Lachen(try avoiding his hotel), we had well-maintained rooms with hot water and tasty food everywhere. Especially for vegetarians, I suggest pre-booking breakfast and dinner.

I am more or less satisfied with the trip arranged by Northeast Tour. I would like to elaborate my experience. We visited Darjeeling(Anutri Hill Resort-- Awesome hotel,location is too good,entire kanc (Read More)hangangha range could be seen from the hotel room,happy with their hospitality,staffs are polite and helpful, food qualitu could be better-- specially the bengali cuisine is not upto the mark where as we tried their starters-- chicken pakora and Chilly baby corn both are tasty co),Sittong(Bisesh homestay-- sumptuous food,nice staffs,enjoyed bon fire,ambiance, awsome view, one of the best homestays I have even stayed at),Lamahatta(worth remembering because of their hospitality.Awsome food,hotel,ambiance,the place is inside the jungle,enjoyed a lot) and Charkhole(i am not at all satisfied with the hotel, staffs,food nothing is as per my expectations..Filthy washroom, dirty dinner area. Room is also another disappointment for us). Our tour manager Mr. Kameshwar has arranged and made our tour memorable. He has always been reachable whenever there is any urgency and humble). Last one thing, our driver was a good guy with appropriate driving skill although he was not familiar with the hotels we visited and the routs. We faced a lot of challenges because of that.As per my understanding, it is always advisable to appoint a local driver. Otherwise all were as per our expectations.

Trip to Darjeeling- Gangtok

I booked a family trip to Darjeeling-Gangtok for 4N/5D. The initial feel of the travel seemed impressive. we got cars on time and average hotels. The drivers were okay however we did not have enough s (Read More)ight seeing throughout the entire package. The drivers did not have iterinary so they showed us whatever they wanted (skipped a few things as per his wish). Later the blame was on us that we did not inform the co-ordinators. The places are very beautiful and worth a visit once. But I feel instead of taking a package from agents if we book the tickets and hotels online and take any local taxi which costs 1.5-2k for entire day sight seeing its more worth the money and you will be satisfied at the end of the trip. We spend so much and only once so make the most of it. wanted to give 2.8 stars but 3 stars only for the memories we had !

We have cross checked and found that last day you had half day Gangtok city tour you call driver earlier before sightseeing place opening time . Due to early start 01-02 places was not opened.

Ma'am you have suggested others that they will get Local taxis for 1.5-2 k for entire day this is totally wrong.This will misguide the people travelling to this region. If you have any confusion you can call to Sikkim Tourism for clarification regarding taxis fare.There are permission formalities which you have not mentioned.This is the major part of your travelling.For certain places you need to make permission which is not possible for all traveler to be done within their travelling time.

Regarding Hotels ma'am you took the budget package beside this Deluxe rooms were provided to you all places.

I have taken tour package for 5-6 days for Shillong and Gauhati. Stay at Hotel in Shillong was very good. (Hotel Saad). The service provided by this hotel was very good specially breakfast and behavio (Read More)ur of hotel staff. However it was horrible at Gauhati (Hotel Spectrum Residency ). They were not able to provide breakfast though I have paid for that. Their overall service was poor. They were not curtious with the customers. Location of the hotel was also not good. Driver and Sedan car provided exclusively for me and they were both good. The rate provided by this tour operator is too costly and it can be easily managed with lesser expense if arrange by own.

Sain Resort Hotel - I will never consider again !!!

We took a package to visit Darjeeling with Northeast tour. Everything was superb except for the Sain Resort Hotel. Our agent from Northeast tour (Kameshwa Prasad) was excellent in all aspects and the (Read More)car & the driver was good but when it comes to the accommodation it was a disaster!! We stayed there for 4 night and 5 days and paid top money for it, it was supposed to be a good one! We prepaid for dinner and breakfast. For breakfast, every morning is the same and very limited choices with no fresh juice. For dinner, there were the only two choices 1) fish and 2) chicken every day. Quality of the food was very poor and they did not have basic items like Coca Cola, lemon etc. Gym: in the brochure, they advertised gym and spa facilities but in reality none of them was ready and I was told that they will be ready in few weeks time! I was very disappointed about that. We had to change the room because the water pressure was very low and we were unable to take shower. They did not have any ironing board and iron was dirty, I spoiled one of my shirts while ironing. When I asked for a replacement iron, I was told that they have only one iron available in the hotel. Internet connection was very unstable and almost unusable. Apart from that, the view was superb, the bed was comfortable and the room was very good size. My suggestion to the travellers: Please ask your agent if they know about the current condition of the hotel in detail before they recommend or book it for you.

Yester November, 2017 We visited Guwahati, Kamakhya temple, Shillong, Cherrapunji, Gangtok, Nathula Pass, Darjeeling & Tiger Hill from Rafiganj (Aurangabad, Bihar) with 5 family members. We got comfortable cabs, friendly drivers, awesome hotels and above all, alluring & mouthwatering foods for vegetarians & nonvegeterians both types of family members. I again consulted him to arrange my this year's proposed tour for Himachal Pradesh but sorry to say that they are arranging only Northeastern India & Bhutan. Manthosh is too good in coordinating with guest on daily basis, and taking care of the guests. Both these people are assets to the organization. Our trip was really good. The only thing that went wrong were the hotels. We had asked the agent to book suite room in 3star hotel but he provided us deluxe hotels with just 4 beds. When we spoke to t (Read More)he agent he was arguing that we selected the hotels.He was not ready to listen to us and he was blaming us for the hotels. Before booking the tour he had given us 2 quotations with different hotels and we chose the one with the highest price.He said that the hotels were very nice. Despite of paying so much we were not satisfied with the hotels. As we didnt like the hotels we wanted to change it , but when we asked the tour agent to cancel the hotels he was like that wont be possible and u need to pay for the extra cancellation fee. We had lachen in our itinerary but due to snowfall it was closed and we couldnt go. The agent had informed us b4 abt this but he didnt reduce any amount. The cars were ok. Remaining part of the tour was well organised. The drivers were good and used to come on time. No isuues with that. Main problem was hotel. Overall we had a grt time with family and enjoyed our tour. Just one request to the agent, try to listen to the customer and solve their problem instead of blaming them for everything. And its better to go there and do spot booking instead of prebooking..

Disappointing and scary experience

I used your services for booking a taxi for one night & 2 days trip from Silliguri to Kalimpong and back with Northeast Tour. I am sorry to say that I had a very disappointing and scary experienc (Read More)e. The driver reached our pick up point 1 hour late in the morning. Throughout the trip, the driver was very rude to us. We complained about driver's behavior to Northeast Tour. After knowing about the complaint, the driver intentionally tried to irritate us more. In the afternoon we asked the driver to drop us in the market for lunch. We asked him to pick us back after 1 hour but after 1 hour, he was nowhere to be found. When we tried calling him, he disconnected our calls. We then called him from an unknown number and not to our surprise, he picked up the call. We asked him to come & pick us up, he told us that he will pick us up after half an hour. So we decided to take a small walk in that area. We had just walked some distance and to our surprise, we saw the driver driving the car and some unknown person was sitting in it. We tried to call the driver again, but again he disconnected our phone. I started running after his car and finally caught hold of him. As soon as the car stopped, the unknown person ran away from the car. Overall, I have never felt so unsafe in any of my previous journeys. I think it was a big mistake to take your services and book taxi with Northeast Tour. They also demanded 100% payment even before starting the trip. Dissatisfied customer Manju Jindal

Only 1 complaint about lachung an (Read More)d lachen about vehicle we were 8 people and we got only one sumo max for this terrific journey. One more thing but it was not related to north east tour its all about hotel fortuna . Plz note you dont have nonveg food option in fortuna.

It was pleasant stay at darjeeling and gangtok but very poor at namchi. there was no electricity for more than 30 hrs other tourists shifted their rooms within 2-3 Hrs but no support was provided us (Read More) from NorthEast tours that was pathetic. rest all was fine.

Beautiful trip - In sikkim our itenary covered lachen, lachung, tsongolake, nathula pass, pelling and gangtok day tour. We were only girls travelling and were had to book with a good tour operator. We (Read More) scannned through many itenaries, tour agents, reviews and finally chose northeast tours. We got a very good deal. Vikash patiently answered all the doubts we had at all hours before the trip. He was very friendly and always ready to help. He personally came to receive us at the airport and give us our hotel vouchers with some snacks and water in the car. Our entire trip was very well planned, very well cordinated. All the drivers were very friendly and pros at driving. Now coming to the hotels. All the hotels were good except the one at Gangtok. The gangtok hotel was highly ok. We had to actually complain to get the staff working but once we did, the services were much better and so were the rooms. The hotel (snow view) at pelling was the best with the best food. We enjoyed every meal we ate. Highly recommended. The hotel at lachen was hotel view point - the staff was very friendly- food was good and view was breath taking-i would recommend this too. The hotel at lachung was fortuna-they greated us with very tasty bhajias- friendly staff and heaters to save us from the cold. All the hotels were very good. Gangtok hotel was ok. Overall northeast tours gave us a very good quote with good hotels. We used to get a call from northeast tours everyday to ask how our day was and to brief the next day which was very kind. We could not cover nathula pass due to weather conditions and once we were back without any follow up we were redunded the money back. Overall services of northeast tour is excellent. I highly recommend taking the services. Thank you northeast tours for making our trip so memorable

I liked their services but the hotel they have booked are not up to mark except Mya Inn in Gangtok. The tour operator should visit atleast once before offering the hotels in their panel. The rooms pro (Read More)vided in Smart Residency having not even an opening in the bathroom. The behaviour of manager of Snoe View in Peeling was untolerable and the meals they provided cant not eatable by a normal men.
