Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station and drive to Shillong (about 3-4 hours). En-route, stop at the serene Umiam Lake for photos and refreshments. On arrival in Shillong, check into your hotel. Evening at leisure or explore Police Bazaar. Overnight stay at Shillong.
After breakfast, head out to explore Shillong’s sightseeing. Visit Lady Hydari Park for its beautiful Japanese-style gardens with vibrant flowers, rhododendrons, and orchids, along with a popular mini-zoo housing rescued animals like bears, leopards, deer, and various birds. Shillong Peak for panoramic views, followed by the cascading Elephant Falls. Later, stroll through Ward’s Lake and then explore the Don Bosco Museum. Evening free for shopping or café hopping. Overnight stay at Shillong.
Check out after breakfast and drive to Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village. Walk through its neat lanes and visit the Riwai Single Root Bridge nearby. Continue to Dawki, famous for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River, and enjoy a boat ride. Later, proceed to Cherrapunjee (Sohra), check into your hotel, and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
After breakfast, Drive to Tyrna village and begin your trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. The trek involves around 3,500 steps each way, passing suspension bridges, small streams, and single root bridges. Spend time at the iconic Double Decker Bridge, and if time permits, continue to Rainbow Falls. Return to Cherrapunjee by evening. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Guwahati (5–6 hours). If time allows, visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple before being dropped at the airport/railway station for your onward journey.
