Day 1 Guwahati to Shillong
- The Nongjrong sunrise tour Meghalaya picks up at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for the 100-kilometre drive west through the Brahmaputra plains and into the East Khasi Hills. The road climbs through Nongpoh and arrives in Shillong at 1,496 metres in approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Sleep is the priority on Night 1 - not because Shillong does not warrant an evening but because the driver leaves before 4am tomorrow and the difference between arriving at Nongjrong rested and arriving having barely slept is the difference between the sunrise registering fully and the mind catching up to it an hour after the light has moved on.
Day 2 Nongjrong Sunrise
- The driver leaves Shillong between 3:30 and 4am for the Nongjrong sunrise tour Meghalaya viewpoint. The timing is the package.
