Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta airport and stay overnight in Nairobi

Upon arrival at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta airport
Staff will be there to welcome you
One of our guides will be holding a pager with the name of your guest for easy identification
Assistance with suitcase loading to the safari jeep
Transfer to the hotel for your stay

Day 2 Drive to Samburu game reserve

0730hrs after breakfast, load the suitcase.
Safari starts driving through the Kenya highlands.
Stop on the way and across the equator to the northern frontier.
Visit the town of Isiolo, home to different ethnic groups in Kenya.
Continue to the semi-arid national game reserve of Samburu.
Samburu is home to the Samburu people, cousins to the Masai people.
The park is home to endangered animals like:

Gravy Zebra
Reticulated giraffes
Somali Ostrich
Oryx

River Ewaso Nyiro provides water for the Samburu people and wildlife.
Game reserve has big herds of:

Elephants
Lions
Leopards

Arrive at Samburu Simba Lodge (mid-range accommodation) for lunch.
Drive takes about 5 ½ hours.
After lunch, relax or take a swim to cool off.
Later go for the afternoon game drive.
Park known for big herds of:

Elephants
Lions
Leopards
Rare Gravy Zebra
Gerenuk
Oryx

After sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Day of Game drive within Samburu

06:00 hrs leave the lodge for the morning game drive with picnic breakfast
Spend the morning hours in the park photographing both animals and birds
Break for breakfast under the acacia tree around 9:00 hrs
Continue with game drive before returning to the lodge at around 11:30 hrs
Relax or swim thereafter
Lunch will be served
15:30 hrs head out for the evening safari along Ewaso Nyiro river
Wait for the sun to go down and take the famous sunset shot
After the sunset, return to the lodge
Dinner and overnight at Samburu Simba lodge (Mid-range Accommodation)

Day 4 Drive to Olpejeta Conservancy

06:00 hrs leave the lodge for the morning game drive, later return to the lodge for breakfast.
10:00 hrs after breakfast, check out and drive to OlPejeta conservancy around Mount Kenya region (approximately 3 hours with a short toilet break).
Short game viewing on the way to Serena Sweet Waters Tented Camp.
After checking in, lunch will be served from 13:00 hrs.
After lunch, relax.
15:00 hrs afternoon game drive to see endangered chimpanzees in the private game ranch.
Ol Pejeta game ranch is home to the big five: lion, leopard, elephants, rhinos, and buffalos.
Visit the tamed black rhino named Baraka, which can be seen up close and touched.
After sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Another Day in Olpejeta conservancy

Early morning game drive in search of lions and other cats
Look out for other wildlife
Return to the lodge for breakfast
Relax during mid-day while watching animals at the nearby water hole
Enjoy the swimming pool or a swim
Afternoon game drive from 15:30 hrs till sunset
Return to the lodge for dinner
Overnight stay

Day 6 Drive to Lake Naivasha

08:00 hrs check out
Drive to Lake Naivasha (4 hours)
Cross the equator to the southern hemisphere
Check in at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge
Lunch served
Walk on the lodge's beautiful grounds with acacia trees
Boat ride around the lake to watch different water birds
Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge

Day 7 Drive to Masai Mara game reserve

07:30 hrs check out, load up and drive to the famous Masai Mara Game reserve
Drive duration: approximately 4 ½ hours
Masai Mara is referred to as the jewel of Kenya's park
Kenya's number one park, a must-see for tourists
Home to various types of animals and birds
Masai Mara is known for its rolling grasslands and acacia savannah
Featured in films such as "Out of Africa" and "The Big Cat Diary"
Home to the Big Five: elephants, buffalo, rhino, lion, and leopard
Also known for cheetahs and other game
Famous for the spectacular annual migration of over a million wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle
Migratory route: from Serengeti in northern Tanzania crossing the Mara River into Kenya?s Masai Mara
Migration occurs between July to October

Arrive for lunch at Mara Sopa

Day 8 Whole Day in the park

Another day in Masai Mara
0700hrs leave the lodge with picnic lunch
Spend the day in the park watching wildlife
Drive to the famous Mara River wildebeest crossing points
See hippos and crocodiles
Have picnic lunch under a tree
Continue with game drive
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 9 Drive to Nairobi airport

After breakfast, you will load up and drive back to Nairobi.
You will have lunch in one of the restaurants.
Later, transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
