Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Jammu - Transfer to Katra Hotel

You will be met by our representative at the Jammu Airport/Railway Station. He will assist with your transfer to the hotel. Arrive in Katra, check in at the hotel, freshen up, and relax in the luxury of royal hospitality. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, proceed to the Vaishnodevi Shrine (approximately a 13 km trek). You can trek up to the Shrine if fitness permits; otherwise, ponies or palanquins are also available at an extra cost. Arrive at Vaishnodevi Bhawan, wash and change before Mata Darshan. After Mata Vaishnodevi Darshan, you may proceed for Bhaironji Darshan (optional). Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Katra.

After breakfast, drive to Srinagar. Upon arrival in Srinagar, check in at the hotel, freshen up, and relax in the luxury of royal hospitality. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Today, after breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Sonmarg (Golden Meadow). Sonmarg lies in Sind Valley, surrounded by mountains and adorned with flowers. It is also the base for some interesting treks to the high-altitude Himalayan lakes. Enjoy horse riding up to Thajiwas Glacier and sledge riding on snow (on direct payment). Overnight stay at the hotel in Srinagar.

Today, proceed on a sightseeing tour of the world-famous Mughal gardens, including Shalimar, Nishat, Tulip Gardens (Asia’s biggest tulip garden), Botanical Gardens, Chesmashahi, Parimahal, and the famous Hazratbal. All the gardens are situated on the banks of Dal Lake, with the Zabarwan Hills in the background. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

In the morning, leave for Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers), located 2,730 meters above sea level. Gulmarg boasts one of the best ski slopes and an 18-hole golf course. If the weather permits, you can also view Nanga Parbat, the "Naked Mountain," towering over 26,000 feet and dominating the entire region. Enjoy a cable car ride (Gondola at your own cost) up to Khilangmarg. Evening at the hotel and overnight stay.

After breakfast, proceed to Pahalgam (The Valley of Shepherds). En route, visit the saffron fields of Pampore, Awantipura Ruins (an 1100-year-old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King Awantivarman), and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Drive through the pine forests. Arrive in Pahalgam and enjoy the Lidder stream. Later, walk along pony trails with a magnificent view of the mountains. Overnight stay at the hotel in Pahalgam.

Today, you will make your way back to Katra. Your time in Kashmir has taken you from the breathtaking meadows of Gulmarg to the imposing valleys of Pahalgam and Sonmarg. You have ventured across the expanse of the valleys, experiencing the region’s sensational landscapes. From the opulent glow of serene lakes and springs to towering mountain peaks, Kashmir holds the wonders and majesty of an entirely different world, where you have wandered, wondered, and seen it all.

Other Details

  • Pre paid sim cards dont work in J&K due to security reasons, post paid connection is must.
  • In Katra for Pithu / Palki / Pony services Municipal Comittee Katra has fixed the rates and they are displayed on the rate card outside their booking office at Banganga. If someone is over charging above the listed rates its upto you how hard you can bargain.
  • In Srinagar if you are staying at the Houseboat :- Shikara Ride are complimentary, do not pay for the same.
  • It is not mandatory for guest to take ponies in Gulmarg & Pahalgam to visit all the important tourist spots, all the major tourist attraction point are in close proximity so you can walk it down. However if still you wish to take pony ride / sledging / rafting etc the rates the highly negotiable. Please bargain to your max.
  • Sightseeing to Aru Valley / Beetab Valley / Chandanwari at Pahalgam will be by local taxi union only. Due to union outside vehicles cannot enter these places. The rate are highly negotiable if you wish to visit these places. You have to pay extra directly.
  • For Shopping :- Dry Fruits / Rajma / Basmati Rice / Handicraft / Woolens / Carpets/ Saffron / Cricket Bats Srinagar :- Lal Chowk / Boulevard
  • For Kashmiri Wazwan Food :- Aadhoos at Lal Chowk Srinagar is the best place and Mutton Kebab at Gee Enn Bakers - Residency Road.
  • For Vegetarian Food in Srinagar :- Krishna Dhaba is the best place.

What's Not Good: Everything was good as per planned. Some of Kashmir hotels are giving couple rooms even we booked Two family rooms.. That was little disappointing.

From July 1st to 10th we are on Amarnath and Vaishnavi Devi yatra. We have wonderful experience with our Travel agent Poise travels. Though we have changed our plan twice or thrice they have planned (Read More) our trip very well. After completing our Amarnath darshan we went to Vaishno Devi and they have arranged excellent hotels and good travel arrangements. All the hotels they have provided are excellent neat and they have served good food. We have faced some problems due to land slide on the Srinagar to Jammu highway. They have guided us time to time and they are extended all the support. We were very happy and suggest our friends and relatives to plan their trips with this travel agency.
