    • The age limit to obtain a Kailash Yatra permit for Indian passport holders is 69 years. It is not applicable for individuals above 70 years. However, we cannot guarantee that a permit will be issued.
  • Health Restrictions
    • This is one of the toughest high-altitude road journeys on earth. You must be physically fit. Generally, patients with asthma and heart problems may have difficulty acclimatizing to high altitudes. It is essential to be examined by your doctor to assess your health condition and your ability to cope with the rigors of high-altitude travel, extreme cold, dust, and trekking to an altitude of 5,630 meters at Dolmala Pass during the Kailash round.
  • Risk of Altitude Sickness
    • As you are traveling over high terrain, you may experience symptoms and discomfort of altitude sickness (headache, loss of appetite, nausea, exhaustion, sleeplessness, breathlessness, etc.) until your body adjusts to the elevation. This acclimatization can take a couple of days or more, depending on the individual. For this reason, we have made it mandatory to stay 2 nights at Nyalam (12,000 ft). Yatris (tourists) can also make this Kailash journey by taking a flight from Kathmandu to Simikot by helicopter, or to Lhasa and Kerung city, which will shorten the duration of the trip. Drink plenty of water, remain calm, and avoid exercise. Do not consume alcohol or smoke prior to and during the tour. We also recommend carrying a strip of Diamox tablets; please consult your physician regarding the dosage. We provide lifesaving oxygen cylinders with regulators and masks in case of altitude sickness, which are world-class equipment for high-altitude areas up to Mt. Everest.
  • Currency Exchange Information
    • Important: For Indian Yatris, 500 INR bills are not allowed while traveling in Nepal. We suggest that all Yatris carry some US dollars (USD) or 100 INR bills, or other international currencies such as AUD, CAD, EURO, POUND, CHF, SGD, HKD, CHN, or MALAYAN. The unit of Chinese currency is Yuan. The exchange rate is approximately USD 1 = 6.50 Yuan and 1 Yuan = 13 INR. Money can be exchanged at the Bank of China in Lhasa, at the Kerung border, or in Purang, or from local people and guides in Lhasa.

They were unable to provide us with transportation as they already had prior boo (Read More)kings, so we had to arrange transport through other sources. The resort and hotels were good; however, at the time of booking, they had mentioned that the property in Pokhara would have a swimming pool. In reality, there was no swimming pool, and it was not even a resort but actually a hotel. Nevertheless, the overall stay arrangement was satisfactory.
Except for Siddhartha Riverside, the food at all other hotels and resorts in Nep (Read More)al was not good. They did not even have the basic courtesy to provide drinking water in the room. At the time of check-in, two bottles of water were provided, but the next morning when we asked for a refill, they said refills are only done after 12:00 PM. If we needed water before that, we had to purchase it ourselves. We have traveled extensively around the world, but we have never experienced such dry and unaccommodating behavior anywhere. Refilling drinking water is a very basic courtesy that hotels and resorts should provide.

Every destination was well planned and executed smoothly. Hotels, transportation, and overall arrangements were excellent. A special thanks to Arith, the manager and tour organizer, who was extremely supportive and took care of every detail. Even after the trip ended, he personally followed up to ensure we reached safely, which truly shows their professionalism and care. Our guide Bijay, appointed by Holyland, was outstanding—very friendly, knowledgeable, supportive, and an excellent driver, especially on hill routes. He made the journey comfortable and enjoyable throughout. Overall, the trip was stress-free, memorable, and perfectly managed.
