Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Leh via Flight - Shanti Stupa - Leh Palace - Main Market
  • After a wonderful flight, you will arrive in Leh, situated at a height of 3,500 meters.
  • You will be transferred to your hotel upon arrival.
  • Our representative will hand over all your tour-related documents and provide a brief overview of the tour.
  • If health permits, you will visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and Leh Main Market in the evening; otherwise, we will do this on the second day.
  • Leh Palace: Located on the top of the deserted Tsemo Hill, Leh Palace is also known as Lhachen Palkhar. This former palace of the royal family of Leh was erected in the 17th century. It was one of the tallest structures with nine stories during its heyday. Today, it is one of the most popular attractions in Leh. From the top, the views of Stok Kangri, the Ladakh mountain ranges, and the town are simply breathtaking. Slightly in ruins, the palace is now managed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
  • Shanti Stupa: This white, domed-shaped structure is located in Chanspa and looks extremely beautiful at night when illuminated. This peace pillar was built by a peace sect of a Japanese Buddhist organization to celebrate the completion of 2,500 years of Buddhism and to promote world peace. The Stupa offers stunning views of both sunrise and sunset.
  • Stay overnight in Leh.
  • Full-day tour to the Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Sangam, Spituk Monastery, and Phyang Monastery.
  • Phyang Monastery features a 900-year-old museum with an extensive collection of idols, thangkas, scriptures, and Tibetan, Chinese, and Mongolian weapons.
  • The monastery complex includes a temple of Mahakal, built around the same time as the monastery.
  • Phyang Monastery also has its own school, known as Ratnashri School, founded to educate young Buddhist monks in both Buddhism and modern education.
  • Sangam, located at Nimu, is where the Zanskar River and Indus River merge, offering a stunning view of the confluence.
  • Hall of Fame is a must-visit for every patriotic Indian, built by the Indian Army in memory of soldiers who lost their lives in the Kargil War.
  • Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, located 40 km from Leh, was constructed in 1571 to commemorate Guru Nanak's visit to this region.
  • Magnetic Hill is known for the phenomenon where vehicles, with their engines turned off, appear to move uphill on a steep slope.
  • Return to Leh in the evening for an overnight stay.
  • Early morning departure to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass, which is situated at a height of 18,360 ft and is considered the highest motorable pass in the world.
  • This location is the perfect spot to capture the beauty of nature.
  • In the afternoon, enjoy lunch at a restaurant in Nubra Valley and check in to your guest house.
  • Nubra is famous for its sand dunes, the surrounding cold desert, Bactrian camels, and breathtaking natural beauty.
  • Bactrian camels are a unique attraction; native to the steppes of Central Asia, they have two humps, unlike the single-humped camels found in Rajasthan and other parts of India.
  • Historically, Bactrian camels were the primary mode of transport when Ladakh was an important stopover on ancient trade routes with Central Asia.
  • In the evening, enjoy the beauty of the sand dunes and the double-humped camels.
  • Stay overnight at the camps.
  • After breakfast, visit the Diskit Monastery.
  • Begin your day tour of Pangong Lake via Shayok.
  • The Diskit Monastery, also known as Diskit Gompa, is located in the Nubra Valley of Ladakh.
  • It is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Leh Ladakh, founded by Changzem Tserab Zangpo in the 14th century.
  • The monastery stands atop a hill overlooking the plains of the Shayok River.
  • The main attraction is the 100-foot high Maitreya Buddha statue, inaugurated by the Dalai Lama.
  • From the Gompa, enjoy a panoramic view of the Nubra Valley.
  • Pangong Lake is approximately 135 kilometers from Leh, situated at an elevation of 4,400 meters.
  • En route, cross Chang La Pass and drive through Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh.
  • In the afternoon, explore the lake and its surroundings.
  • Experience the hypnotic and picturesque beauty of Pangong Tso Lake.
  • Overnight stay in a camp.
  • Today you will drive back to Leh via Changla Pass.
  • On the way, we can visit:
    • Thiksey Monastery
    • Shey Palace
    • Rancho School
  • Shey Palace: Located approximately 15 km south of Leh, Shey Palace was built in 1650. It features the largest Changchup Chorten (Victory Stupa) in Ladakh, with its top made of pure gold. The stupa is a dome-shaped building erected as a Buddhist shrine and can be found throughout the region.
  • Thiksey Monastery: One of the main attractions inside Thiksey Monastery is the Maitreya Buddha, a statue nearly two stories tall and a splendid piece of architecture.
  • Rancho School: This school gained fame after Aamir Khan's movie "Three Idiots." Officially named Druk Padma Karpo School, it is also known as Druk White Lotus School. The clean and eco-friendly structures of the school are designed to withstand seismic disturbances. It was recognized as one of the most beautiful schools in the world by BBC London.
