Day 1 London - City Orientation

After breakfast, enjoy a guided city tour of London with a local expert. Eine Reise mit Explore Horizons können wir mit bestem Gewissen weiterempfehlen. Im April haben wir gemeinsam mit weiteren 10 Freunden eine Reise von Kolkata aus über Darjeeling nach Sikkim und Bhutan (Read More)unternommen. Die Reise wurde nach unseren Wünschen der Agentur "Explore Horizons" geplant und hervorragend durchgeführt. Alle Bustransfers, Züge, Flüge, sowie die Reservierungen in den Hotels waren sehr gut vorbereitet und organisiert, so dass wir ohne Panne die Reise in vollen Zügen genießen konnten. 2 Tage haben wir in Kolkata verbracht, um einen kleinen Eindruck von dieser lauten, schmutzigen, vibrierenden und menschenüberfüllten Millionenstadt zu bekommen. Diese Stadt mit ihren historischen Zeugnissen aus der Zeit der Engländer war beeindruckend, aber auch beängstigend. Schon früh sollten wir dann mit dem Zug gen Norden fahren. Wir waren froh, dass wir unseren Reiseleiter dabei hatten, der uns mit seiner ruhigen Art durch die Menschenmassen zum richtigen Bahnsteig lotste. Der Zug brachte uns in 8 Stunden - übrigens pünktlich - zum Ziel, nachdem wir fruchtbare Landschaften durchquert hatten. Am Ankunftsbahnhof wurden wir bereits von einem Bus mit Fahrer und Gehilfe erwartet, weil wir anschließend noch 3 Stunden die Berge uns hinauf "quälen" mussten. Das war schon mal ein Vorgeschmack auf die nächsten Tage und Wochen, die wir am Fuß des Himalaya verbringen wollten. Darjeeling liegt bereits auf ca. 1.800 m, ein kleiner Teil der Stadt liegt in der Senke, der größte Teil auf den Hügeln ringsrum und auch hier wimmelte es von Menschen, Autos und sonstigen Gefährten, so dass das Zurücklegen einer kurzen Wegstrecke sich sehr zeitaufwendig gestaltete. Der frühe Sonnenaufgang war uns nicht vergönnt, da die Sonne sich hinter Wolken versteckte. Die Besichtigung der Teefabrik war enttäuschend, da die Fabrik nur der Show diente und nicht den tatsächlichen Vorgang der Teeverarbeitung uns zeigte. Lustig war die Fahrt mit dem alten Toy Train, der uns zeigen sollte, wie früher die Engländer vom heißen Kolkata zum gemäßigten Norden reisten,um im Sommer sich zu erholen. Unsere Reise führte uns weiter nach Gangtok im Königreich Sikkim,das sich durch Sauberkeit und Gelassenheit der Menschen bereits von der Hektik der anderen indischen Städte abhob. Die Klöster und Mythen wurden uns von unserem Reiseleiter sehr ausführlich erklärt, genauso wie er an den Abenden die Sitten und Gebräuche des Landes uns näher brachte. Natürlich wurde auch die Politik nicht ausgelassen. Von Sikkim aus ging es wieder mit dem Bus nach Süden, wo wir 2 Nationalparks besuchten. Leider zeigten sich die "versprochenen" Tiere nicht, aber das lag nicht an der Organisation! Der Grenzübergang nach Bhutan setzte uns in Erstaunen, da wir durch eine schmutzige indische Straße zur Grenzstation gehen mussten, um hinter einer großen Mauer ein sauberes, entspanntes, ruhiges Bhutan zu betreten. Der Unterschied konnte nicht größer sein! Die Menschen waren alle sehr freundlich, höflich, zuvorkommend, dementsprechend war der Verkehr entspannt, es gab kein Hupkonzert, jeder nahm auf den anderen Rücksicht. In ganz Bhutan gibt es keine Ampel, der Verkehr wird noch von Polizisten geregelt, wenn es denn mal notwendig sein sollte. Die 3 wichtigsten Städte - Paro, Thimphu und Punakha haben wir besucht. Auch hier hat der Reiseleiter uns über alles Wichtige, Religion, Tradition, Sitten und Gebräuche umfassend informiert und konnte alle unsere Fragen beantworten. Die von "explore horizion" ausgesuchten Hotels waren gut,das Essen sehr bhutanesisch, einfach aber schmackhaft und das Personal überall freundlich. In Paro hatten wir das Glück, am wichtigsten Fest des Jahres teilnehmen zu dürfen und das Tiger Nest besteigen zu können. Bhutan ist sehr beeindruckend, religiös und traditionell. Selbst die Vegetation lässt uns staunen, in 3.000m Höhe wachsen noch hohe Bäume und blühen die Rhododendren! Insgesamt war die Reise sehr gut organsiert, wir können die Reise mit bestem Gewissen empfehlen.

Diese Reise durch Nordindien und darüber hinaus war ein unvergessliches Erlebnis voller kultureller Höhepunkte, beeindruckender Architektur und entspannender Momente am Strand. Die Reise begann in De (Read More)lhi, einer Stadt, die Geschichte und Moderne auf faszinierende Weise vereint. Dank unserer deutschsprachigen, versierten Reisebegleitung konnten wir die historischen Stätten wie das Rote Fort und das Qutb Minar tiefgründig erleben. In Agra erwartete uns zum Sonnenaufgang das atemberaubende Taj Mahal. Unsere Reiseleitung vermittelte nicht nur die historischen Fakten, sondern auch die emotionale Tiefe dieses Liebesmonuments. Die "Pink City" Jaipur beeindruckte mit dem Hawa Mahal (Palast der Winde) und dem Stadtpalast. Besonders faszinierend war das Jantar Mantar, ein astronomisches Observatorium, das zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gehört. In Jodhpur, der "Blauen Stadt", erkundeten wir das imposante Mehrangarh-Fort und genossen den Blick über die blauen Häuser der Altstadt. Udaipur, oft als "Venedig des Ostens" bezeichnet, verzauberte uns mit dem malerischen Pichola-See und dem prächtigen Stadtpalast. Ein Spaziergang durch den Saheliyon Ki Bari, den Garten der Jungfern und eine Bootsfahrt mit Rast auf der Insel im Jag Mandir Palace rundete unseren Aufenthalt ab. Der Transfer nach Mumbai verlief reibungslos. Die Stadtführung führte uns zu den Highlights wie dem Gateway of India und Ghandi Museum, dem Bahnhof Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus und der Wäscherei Dhobi Ghat, wodurch wir einen lebendigen Eindruck von dieser pulsierenden Metropole erhielten. Zum Abschluss genossen wir vier Tage Entspannung in einem traumhaften Resort in Goa. Die Kombination aus palmengesäumten Stränden, exzellentem Service und kulinarischen Genüssen bot den perfekten und entspannenden Ausklang unserer Reise. Diese Reise war perfekt organisiert, mit einer sprachgewandten und kenntnisreichen Reiseleitung, die jeden Ort in ihrer freundlichen, angenehmen und persönlichen Art -stets professionel- lebendig werden ließ. Ein besonderes Highlight der Reise war die Chance, immerwieder lokale Spezialitäten und kulinarische Leckerbissen kosten zu können, wenn man das wollte. Während der gesamten Indienreise überzeugten die Unterkünfte durch hohen Komfort, Sauberkeit und landestypisches Flair. Ob modernes Stadthotel oder Palace Hotel– jede Unterkunft bot ihren ganz eigenen Charakter und trug maßgeblich zum Reiseerlebnis bei. J’ai eu la chance de faire appel aux services de cette société (en particulier Kapil) qui m’a organisé une visite de New Delhi ainsi qu’un déplacement jusqu’à Agra pour visiter le Taj Mahal. Kapil a é (Read More)té très compétent, serviable et très réactif. Tout s’est extrêmement bien déroulé durant les 2 jours de circuit effectué. Je recommande vivement cette société pour vos circuits à organiser en Inde.
