Day 1 Bagdogra/NJP - Darjeeling 93 kms / 3 hours approx.
Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, meet our representative who will assist you for the scenic drive to Darjeeling. Perched at an altitude of 2134 meters in the Himalayas, Darjeeling—meaning “Place of the Thunderbolt” or Dorje Ling—offers some of the most iconic views in the world, with the majestic Kanchenjunga dominating the skyline. Known as the "Queen of the Hills", the town is dotted with waterfalls, colonial-era buildings, tea plantations, and the famous narrow-gauge railway. Darjeeling continues to enchant travellers with its charm and mountain magic. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Early morning, drive to Tiger Hill (subject to availability of permit) to witness a stunning sunrise over the snow-capped peaks of the Eastern Himalayas, including Kanchenjunga and, on a clear day, even Mount Everest. Watch the horizon change hues as the first rays of the sun illuminate the mountains in golden light. After breakfast, proceed for a city tour covering Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays), founded by Tenzing Norgay post his Everest ascent, and also visit the Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, the picturesque Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda, and enjoy views of tea estates from the outside. Return to your hotel by evening. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, take a full-day excursion to Mirik, a quiet hill town located about 48 kms from Darjeeling near the Nepal border. The highlight is the tranquil Mirik Lake, a semi-artificial waterbody surrounded by forested hills and tea gardens, offering boating facilities and peaceful walks. The route from Darjeeling to Mirik passes through lush pine forests and rolling tea estates. In the main tourist area of Krishnanagar, explore local markets and soak in the relaxed pace. You can also visit Bokar Monastery and Rameetay Dara for stunning sunrise and sunset views. Return to Darjeeling by evening. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station in time for your onward journey with unforgettable memories of the Eastern Himalayas.
