Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our team will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your city hotel (such as Boma Nairobi or similar). After your journey, settle in and receive a briefing on your upcoming safari. Your stay includes bed and breakfast, making it ideal for evening arrivals.

After breakfast, you’ll depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru National Park, enjoying a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley. You will arrive in time for lunch at your lodge before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its flocks of flamingos, diverse birdlife, and resident wildlife, including rhinos, buffalo, and Rothschild’s giraffes. The park's unique landscape of acacia woodlands and open plains offers excellent wildlife viewing. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

After breakfast, you’ll depart for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, traveling through the scenic Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge before heading out on an afternoon game drive. The Mara is teeming with wildlife, including the “Big Five,” cheetahs, giraffes, wildebeests, and numerous other species. Bird enthusiasts can also spot some of the 500+ bird species recorded here. Enjoy the breathtaking savannah landscapes dotted with acacia trees before returning to your lodge at sunset for dinner and your overnight stay.

Depart for the Isebania border, where you'll complete immigration formalities before meeting your Tanzanian guide. Continue to the iconic Serengeti National Park, enjoying lunch en route. The journey takes approximately eight to nine hours on rugged roads, providing an authentic African adventure. For a faster option, a scenic four-hour flight from the Masai Mara to the Serengeti can be arranged.

After an early breakfast, you will drive to another part of Serengeti National Park to explore its vast reaches, where the big cats—lions, leopards, and cheetahs—abound. Following the short rains, the Serengeti’s golden horizon transforms into an endless green carpet, flecked with wildflowers. The famous plains are interspersed with wooded hills, towering termite mounds, monumental rock kopjes, and rivers lined with elegant acacia trees.

The vast Serengeti is one of the most stunning wildlife sanctuaries on the planet. The name comes from the Maasai word "Siringet," meaning endless plains. This expansive savannah hosts the world’s largest surviving concentration of plains game. In addition to the short grass plains, there are beautiful rocky outcrops called kopjes (pronounced copies) and thousands of acres of bush and acacia woodland. The Seronera area has permanent water, making it an excellent spot to observe the big cats and elephants, particularly during the dry season.

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Ngorongoro Crater and venture down to the crater floor, often referred to as the “Garden of Eden,” where you’ll witness a high concentration of wildlife. The crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world, and at 2,000 feet deep and 264 square miles, is home to an astonishing array of wildlife. It is universally acclaimed as one of the natural wonders of the world.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the crater hosts almost every species found in the region, except for giraffes, as they cannot navigate the steep incline. There are cheetahs, hippos, plains species, and a variety of birdlife. It’s one of the few remaining places where you can encounter the highly endangered black rhino. Additionally, you may spot elephants (mostly lone or “bachelor” bulls), contented lion prides, and resident herds of wildebeest and zebras.

The day will be spent visiting Tarangire National Park, which is famous for its elephants. During the dry season, the park is home to large herds of buffalo, along with significant numbers of zebras and wildebeests. The park’s long vistas and baobab-studded landscape create a unique environment compared to other parks. The red dust, palms, and baobabs set the scene for breathtaking sunrise and sunset photos. During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes the only water source for miles, attracting herds of elephants, wildebeests, and zebras. This park is also a good spot to sight the elusive leopard, and it is home to over 550 bird species, the most in any habitat in the world.

After breakfast, you will be picked up by your driver-guide and drive to Nairobi via the Namanga border. The journey takes approximately four to five hours on a comfortable and smooth road. Your driver-guide will assist you with all immigration formalities at the border before continuing to Nairobi.

This is the final day of your African safari. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure.
