The route then leads towards Srinagar Garhwal, a major educational and cultural hub on the banks of the Alaknanda River; this is the ideal midpoint for a lunch break and a visit to the revered Dhari Devi Temple, located just a few kilometers ahead. From Srinagar, the drive continues toward Rudraprayag, the famous confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. After crossing the sangam, you will turn toward the Mandakini valley, passing through Augustmuni before making the final ascent to Guptkashi.
