Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi to Masai Mara:
  • Pick up from Nairobi hotel or airport in the morning.
  • A 5-hour drive to the Masai Mara gate, via the Great African Rift Valley escarpment and the famous Masai town, Narok.
  • Check in at the lodge/camp and have lunch.
  • Afternoon game drives through the park in search of the lion, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, and other members of the Big Five, as well as other animals.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Mara River Lodge.

Early morning game drive and return to camp for breakfast. After breakfast Full day in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents, The Masai Mara plains are full of wildebeest during migration season early July to end of September, zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, Thomson’s gazelle are regularly seen, leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetah, jackal and bat-eared foxes. Black rhinos are a little shy and hard to spot but are often seen at a distance if you are lucky. Hippos are abundant in the Mara River as are very large Nile crocodiles, who lay in wait for a meal as the wildebeest cross on their annual quest to find new pastures. later Meals and overnight at the lodge 

Early morning breakfast at your camp/lodge and check out with packed lunch. A 3 hour drive to Isebania Tanzania border. You arrive at around 10:45am at the border. Processing of Visa and crossing to Tanzania will take 45 minutes or more, and afterwards proceed to Serengeti. A 3 hour drive to the Main gate. You will be with our Tanzania driver guide. On arrival, game en-route drive in Serengeti while heading to your camp. Dinner and overnight at Tukaone camp 

Early morning breakfast at your camp. After breakfast check out with a packed lunch with a full day game drive. Serengeti without a doubt is the finest national park in the whole of Tanzania. All year round large herds of buffaloes, smaller herds of elephant plus giraffes, in addition to millions of antelopes including elands, topi, impalas, kongoni as well as the Grant’s gazelles. If you are lucky, you will easily see the 3 big cats. Lions can as well be seen often enjoying a kill or resting. Also in the southeastern plains you will be able to regularly see Cheetahs if you are lucky, whereas leopards may be seen resting in the giant trees on the banks of the river. After game drive, dinner and overnight at camp.

Early morning breakfast, after breakfast proceed to Ngorongoro. A 4 hour drive to the Main gate. Ngorongoro Crater is a huge volcanic caldera that hosts a great impressive ecosystem ideal for the survival and preservation of a large diversity of animals, ranging from the lions to the uncommon horned large rhinos. The crater itself is 600m deep to the bottom while the crater floor, is 20km in diameter filled with a diversity of wildlife, ponds plus pools. Ngoro Ngoro Crater is a world heritage site and is commonly referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. After game drive dinner and overnight at tanzanice farm lodge 

Early morning breakfast. After breakfast leave Ngorongoro to Kenya Tanzania border Namanga. A 5 hour drive to the border. Visa process will take 45 min. At noon, 12:00 hrs you will have your lunch at the border then after lunch proceed to Amboseli national park for afternoon and evening game drive. A 2 hour drive. In the evening, get a glimpse magnificent view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.

You will rise early and take off for a morning game drive with some amazing views of Mount Kilimanjaro before the clouds build up over the summit. A packed lunch will be provided during the drive. An optional visit to a Masai village can be planned after breakfast. This tour reveals the singing and dancing of the Masai that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. You will also get a glimpse into their homes and social structure. Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is one of the best wildlife areas in the whole of Africa to experience elephants at close range. Later in the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Break Fast then depart the lodge with an en route Game drive as you join the Nairobi mombasa highway and arrive in the afternoon at the hotel of your choice.

All arrangements including hotel, game drives, food arrangements, personalised s (Read More)ervices by İmara Destinations was excellent We started our trip from New Delhi to Nairobi via Mumbai by Indigo flight. Dennis was there to welcome us at the airport early in the morning. We started off to Samburu, had lunch on the way had a relaxing evening at the resort. We had a wonderful game drive next day at the samburu national reserve, saw a leopard, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, etc from close quarters. We went to ol Pajeto conservancy, fed blind rhino, saw chimpanzees and other animals including two horned rhinos, proceeded to Nakuru saw pelicans, flamingos etc there, Masai Mara we stayed for three nights and had two game drives. Could see lots of lions, cheetah with its prey as well as a pregnant cheetah, zebras, giraffes etc. we also saw ostriches and other animals and birds there. We then went to Naivasha had a boat ride with walk and see crocodiles and hippos and crescent island visit walked with zebras, impalas and wildebeest but couldn’t see giraffe there. Due to floods last year many parts of crescent island got submerged so could only see part of the island. Our last destination was Amboseli park with game drive there. Overall it was a highly satisfying and interesting experience. İmara Destinations did a very good job of taking us to the exact spots where animals would be seen uninterrupted. Very genuine with suggestions and doesn't do things as a job or formality. 3. James is very knowledgeable. 4. The enthusiasm and passion shown by James was just so infectious. 5. The planning of itinerary takes care of all the finer details. 6. They really take care of your focus and they don't try to sell anything you are not interested in. For example we skipped the village visit because we didn't see value in it. 7. Quite flexible and adjusts as things progress.
