Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Nairobi

Arrive in Nairobi JKIA , met by our representatives and transfer to the Eka Hotel for Dinner and Overnight stay ( depending on the time of arrival)

Early breakfast and later 07.30 hrs depart for Masai Mara with stop overs at the Great Rift valley and Narok Town. Arrive at Mara Zebra Plains for lunch.  Afternoon game drive in the reserve and return to the camp for dinner and overnight

Full day in Masai Mara with a full day game drive in the reserve.  Choose to drive with picnic lunches or return for late lunch in the camp.  Dinner and overnight at the camp

Breakfast and thereafter depart for Lake Naivasha sopa Lodge for lunch.  Afternoon boat ride and crescent island tour.  Rest of the afternoon at leisure at the hotel.  Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge

Early breakfast and at 0700 hrs depart via Nairobi to Amboseli to arrive at Kibo safari Camp for lunch.  Afternoon game drive in the park before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Early breakfast and with picnic lunches depart for a full day game drive in Amboseli returning to the camp in the early evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight 

Early breakfast and at 0630 hrs depart for Emali SGR train station for your train journey to Mombasa.  Arrive at Mombasa and transfer to your respective beach hotel

Having done already many safaris im several countries in the past, we might be c (Read More)onsidered as more or less experienced safari tourists. Still, our experience with Bush Mosaic - Brenda, Alex and James - was above expectations. Might be because this was our first visit to Kenya… We did have a little over a week to see the beauty of Kenya. Brenda created a package for us to visit Masai Mara NP, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli NP with a private driver/guide (James!). Notably Masai Mara (because of all the animals!) and Amboseli (the back drop of the Kilimanjaro!) were amazing.
One minor point was that it involved a lot of driving (we did not do our map-hom (Read More)ework). Another was that we had not realised that in these parks it was not allowed to do walking safaris, as we were used in doing in parks in countries such as Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. For the rest: excellent work!

From the very beginning, Christine and Judith from Donwel Tours were highly atte (Read More)ntive to what we were looking to get from our first ever trip to Kenya, and Africa, for that matter. We wanted to cover a lot of ground, and were going from one agency to another before we found Donwel as most agents couldn't quite squeeze everything we wanted into our itinerary. Judith and Christine however made it all possible. Good quality stays everywhere, regular communication through the trip to ensure we were ok and were getting what we wanted. Special shoutout to Teeman, our driver who absolutely fantastic, drove safely and ensured our safety and comfort throughout the trip, regularly coordinating with Christine. This is an excellent team and we would highly recommend their services.
Everything was perfect.

James swiftly emerged as the singular operator I wished to proceed with, and here’s why: - Having substantial on-ground experience from spending extensive time on the safaris himself, he adeptly crafted a honeymoon package that perfectly suited my wife and me. - He adeptly navigated our budget flexibilities and constraints to arrange an impressive array of delightful lodges and activities, focusing on maximising our day-to-day adventures, ensuring each day on safari and at the lodges offered a unique experience. - A skilled photographer himself, James's comprehensive knowledge of various reserves and animal behaviours provided him with a distinct advantage in predicting animal locations and optimal times for photography, whether capturing sunrises, sunsets, or other moments. - Our priority was to maximise game time and reserve experiences. James made certain our vehicle was ready, complete with packed hot breakfast boxes, for a prompt 6 AM departure every morning of the trip. - Remarkably patient, he addressed all my queries, irrespective of whether they seemed 'silly' or insightful—from 'what to wear' at safaris, potential places to explore, to the animals we might encounter. In summary, my wife and I enjoyed an extraordinary experience in Kenya, with Wild Portraits Safaris significantly enhancing the quality of that journey. We are eagerly anticipating more safaris and look forward to embarking on them with James and his team!
