Leave Nairobi early in the morning and drive to Solio Ranch, located between the Aberdare Ranges and the snowcapped Mount Kenya. Renowned for its rhino conservation, Solio is home to both black and white rhinos in large numbers, along with lions, leopards, zebras, and other herbivores. Enjoy a full afternoon game drive in the sanctuary before checking into Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive from Solio to Aberdare National Park, also known locally as the Nyandarua Ranges. As you ascend through layers of mountain vegetation, look out for forest hogs, elephants, hyenas, buffaloes, duikers, bushbucks, and with some luck, the elusive melanistic leopard or serval cat. Pause to admire the scenic waterfalls like Chania Falls and Karuru Falls, Kenya’s tallest. Explore Queen’s Caves, once used by freedom fighters and visited by Queen Elizabeth. After your park excursion, return to Lodge for the night.
Start the day early and head toward Meru National Park. Surrounded by reserves like Kora, Bisanadi, and Rahole, the greater Meru ecosystem is the second-largest wildlife complex in Kenya. Explore Meru’s rich volcanic landscape in the afternoon. The park is home to rhinos, elephants, hippos, lesser kudus, gerenuks, and over 400 bird species. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Camp.
Spend a full day exploring Meru National Park at your own pace. The park features 13 rivers, lush greenery, and sightings of elephants, zebras, leopards, rhinos, reticulated giraffes, and Somali ostriches. Visit the grave of Elsa the lioness—made famous by Joy and George Adamson’s book and film Born Free—where part of Joy's ashes were also scattered. Overnight at Camp.
After breakfast, enjoy a game drive en route out of Meru and continue to Samburu National Reserve. As you travel through varying landscapes and farmlands, the scenery becomes increasingly arid. Arrive in Samburu in time for lunch. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive in search of elephants, lions, leopards, and the stunning African sunset. Overnight at Lodge.
Enjoy a full-day game drive customized to help you explore every corner of Samburu. The Ewaso Nyiro River brings life to this semi-arid region, attracting wallowing elephants, reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, Somali ostriches, oryx, gerenuks, and more. It’s one of the best places to spot leopards and rare bird species. You may also choose to visit a local Samburu village to experience their unique traditions. Overnight at a Lodge.
After breakfast, check out and depart for Nairobi. Arrive in the city by evening, where you will be transferred to your hotel, residence, or directly to the airport, wrapping up a memorable Kenyan wildlife adventure.
