Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Pick up from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi and start your journey to Amboseli National Park through the scenic Athi Plains and into the flat grassland of Amboseli nestled at the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. You will arrive in time for lunch, have some relaxation and go for a late afternoon game viewing in the park. Amboseli is a big game country with elephants antelope, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and giraffes. Spend the afternoon in search of the wildlife offerings of the park

Have breakfast then set out for a full day photography and game viewing, This will introduce you to the intense beauty and drama that fills the park with predators stalking the herds of animals grazing, a theatre of life and death. Photographically it is very rewarding. Its flat and dusty plains and dry lake beds provide amazing backdrops for dramatic and evocative images, especially in certain remote areas of the park. In the early mornings and late afternoons the snowy peak of Mt Kilimanjaro may emerge from the clouds, and when a herd of Elephants appear in the distance it is one of the most iconic scenes in the entire African continent.

On our photo safaris here in Amboseli we focus almost exclusively on photographing the Elephants. If you are keen on photographing Elephants, you will love one of our photo safaris trips dedicated to these beautiful giants in the wet months, when the Elephants are most active. Other safaris during the dry months include Amboseli as part of their itinerary.

You will have breakfast then game drive enroute to the gate. You will arrive the Tsavo in time for lunch, followed by a short relaxation then late afternoon game vieiwing.
This park is considered one of the world’s biodiversity strongholds, and its popularity is mostly due to the vast amounts of diverse wildlife that can be seen, including the famous ‘big five’ consisting of lion, black rhino, cape buffalo, elephant and leopard. The park is also home to a great variety of bird life such as the, crowned crane, black kite and the sacred ibis. Tsavo East National Park is generally flat, with dry plains across which the Galana River flows. Other features include the Yatta Plateau and Lugard falls.

Have an early breakfast, Counter-check your birding equipments and start your game drive with a parked lunch in the park. In the evening have your dinner and overstay at Voi Wildlife Lodge. This vast area is excellent Birding country, popular with specialist birding safaris. Notable species recorded include the rare Basra Reed Warbler, Friedmann’s Lark, Ostrich, Blue Quail, Violet Wood hoopoe, Martial and Crowned Eagle.

Breakfast then depart for game drive with picnic lunch in Tsavo park. Bird watching is best between October and January, with many migratory birds including: African skimmers, red and yellow bishops, goshawks, buffalo weavers and palm nut vultures, to name but a few over 500 bird species have been recorded in the park, including ostriches, kestrels, buzzards, starlings, weaver birds, kingfishers, hornbills, secretary birds and herons

Early game drives, take your breakfast, check out and commence to Nairobi to your hotel/airport

All arrangements including hotel, game drives, food arrangements, personalised s (Read More)ervices by İmara Destinations was excellent We started our trip from New Delhi to Nairobi via Mumbai by Indigo flight. Dennis was there to welcome us at the airport early in the morning. We started off to Samburu, had lunch on the way had a relaxing evening at the resort. We had a wonderful game drive next day at the samburu national reserve, saw a leopard, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, etc from close quarters. We went to ol Pajeto conservancy, fed blind rhino, saw chimpanzees and other animals including two horned rhinos, proceeded to Nakuru saw pelicans, flamingos etc there, Masai Mara we stayed for three nights and had two game drives. Could see lots of lions, cheetah with its prey as well as a pregnant cheetah, zebras, giraffes etc. we also saw ostriches and other animals and birds there. We then went to Naivasha had a boat ride with walk and see crocodiles and hippos and crescent island visit walked with zebras, impalas and wildebeest but couldn’t see giraffe there. Due to floods last year many parts of crescent island got submerged so could only see part of the island. Our last destination was Amboseli park with game drive there. Overall it was a highly satisfying and interesting experience. İmara Destinations did a very good job of taking us to the exact spots where animals would be seen uninterrupted. Well done İmara Destinations. Thanks to Dennis and Murray for it

We had the pleasure of experiencing a 6‑day safari with Ariphine Tours & Safaris (Read More) in the first week of June 2026. From the very beginning, Ashley and her team were outstanding—accommodating all our requests, offering valuable suggestions, and planning the itinerary with great attention to detail. His expertise and dedication made every moment of the journey unforgettable. A heartfelt thank you to Ashley and Evans for making this safari truly memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Kenya’s natural beauty with a professional and caring team.

From the very beginning, Christine and Judith from Donwel Tours were highly atte (Read More)ntive to what we were looking to get from our first ever trip to Kenya, and Africa, for that matter. We wanted to cover a lot of ground, and were going from one agency to another before we found Donwel as most agents couldn't quite squeeze everything we wanted into our itinerary. Judith and Christine however made it all possible. Good quality stays everywhere, regular communication through the trip to ensure we were ok and were getting what we wanted. Special shoutout to Teeman, our driver who absolutely fantastic, drove safely and ensured our safety and comfort throughout the trip, regularly coordinating with Christine. This is an excellent team and we would highly recommend their services.
Everything was perfect.
