Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival – Samburu National Reserve

Upon arrival and after clearing customs at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and driver guide.
After a tour briefing, depart for Samburu.
Enjoy a 5-hour drive to Samburu Sopa Lodge, arriving in time for lunch.
After lunch, take a short rest.
Proceed for an afternoon game drive in the reserve.
In the evening, return to the lodge for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day 2 Full Day Samburu Exploration

After breakfast, enjoy picnic lunch boxes to fully explore the reserve.
Samburu National Reserve covers an area of 165 square kilometers.
It is a semi-arid area bordering the Ewaso Nyiro River to the south and is home to the famous "Special Five" animals.
The drive allows you to look out for the Beisa Oryx, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Gerenuk, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Elephant, Warthog, Wild Dogs, Hyenas, and other wildlife.
Over 250 species of birds, including the White-headed Vulture, Bateleur, African Darter, Great Egret, Yellow-billed Oxpecker, Martial Eagle, Lesser Kestrel, and Taita Falcon, have been recorded.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3 Lake Nakuru National Park

Enjoy breakfast before checking out.
Depart for the famous alkaline lake in the Rift Valley region.
Arrive and check in at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge in time for lunch, followed by a short rest.
Lake Nakuru National Park is recognized as a sanctuary for black and white rhinos and is an Important Bird Area, offering excellent experiences for bird lovers.
Acacia and Euphorbia forests provide havens for animals during the heat of the day.
Spot one of the big nine at the hippo pool.
An evening game drive offers a chance to see other animals such as lions, zebras, Rothschild's giraffes, monkeys, baboons, buffalos, rhinos, gazelles, and many more.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4 Masai Mara National Reserve

Have an early breakfast.
Embark on a drive to the world-famous iconic destination.
After approximately a 5-hour drive, arrive at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge in time for lunch.
Enjoy lunch and refreshments.
Embark on a thrilling evening game drive.
Masai Mara consists of gentle rolling savannah plains stretching over 1,510 square kilometers.
It is home to magnificent wildlife and flora species.
Masai Mara is best known for the Great Wildebeest Migration, where predators pose a threat to the wildebeests while crossing the river to the neighboring park in Tanzania.
Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5 Full Day Game Drive

After breakfast, embark on a full-day exploration of the rolling savannah plains and woodlands.
During the drive, you may spot members of the Big Five:
- Leopards
- Rhinos
- Buffalos
- Lions
- Elephants
Other wildlife you might encounter includes:
- Cheetahs
- Giraffes
- Zebras
- Impalas
- Gazelles
- Topis
- Elands
- Warthogs
- Foxes

Day 6 Transfer to Nairobi

After breakfast, check out and leave for Nairobi.
En route, there will be a stopover in Narok town to stretch and have lunch.
Proceed to Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at the airport to catch your scheduled flight.

I was matched with Crowned Eagle after winning a trip to Amboseli, and this tour company is the best there is. I really loved their professionalism- John, their driver came ahead of time. I guess we'r (Read More)e starting to lose that African time thing? which is great. He was also our designated tour guide.. He was friendly and knew well about the area - loved that.
