Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve

Upon arrival at the airport or from your hotel, you'll be warmly received by our professional tour driver-guide. After a short safari briefing, set out from Nairobi towards the legendary Masai Mara, travelling via the Great Rift Valley. Stop en route to take in panoramic views of the escarpment, then continue through the scenic Hemingway trails to Narok town. Upon arrival at Masai Mara, check in to your camp or lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in the reserve, witnessing the dramatic landscapes and wildlife including the migrating wildebeest, zebras, cheetahs, elephants, lions, buffalos, and other members of the Big Five.

After breakfast at around 07:30 AM, spend the entire day exploring the vast, wildlife-rich plains and rolling hills of Masai Mara. This iconic reserve is renowned for its abundant plains game, black-maned lions, elusive leopards, swift cheetahs, and massive elephant herds. Lunch will be served picnic-style near the Mara River, which marks the border between Kenya and Tanzania and is famed for the annual wildebeest migration. Post lunch, continue your game drive, venturing into various regions of the reserve. Return to camp by 5:30 PM.
Optional (At additional cost): Visit a local Maasai village or take a guided nature walk with Maasai warriors.

After an early breakfast at 06:30 AM, depart Masai Mara for Lake Nakuru, with lunch served en route. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and relax. In the afternoon, set off on a game drive inside Lake Nakuru National Park, a globally renowned bird sanctuary. The park lies within the Great Rift Valley, which stretches from Jordan to Mozambique. During the right season, the lake’s alkaline waters attract thousands of pink flamingos. Other possible sightings include rhinos, hippos, giraffes, tree-climbing lions, leopards, and various species of birds.

After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive through the park where you may spot waterbucks, antelopes, hyenas, lions, and buffalos. Return to the lodge around lunchtime, check out, and begin your journey to Amboseli National Park. Arrive in the evening and check in to your hotel in time to enjoy the beautiful African sunset.

After breakfast in Amboseli National Park, set out for a morning game drive across the open plains, where large herds of elephants roam beneath the iconic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, alongside sightings of giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of birdlife around the wetlands. As the day warms up, return to your lodge to relax and enjoy the views while wildlife retreats from the midday heat. Later in the afternoon, head out for another game drive as animals become more active again, with chances to spot predators like lions and cheetahs as well as buffalo moving across the savannah. In the evening, head back to your stay for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive through Amboseli, known for its picturesque views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and a bird count of over 500 species. Later, drive back to Nairobi with countless memories and stunning photos. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your onward journey.

All arrangements including hotel, game drives, food arrangements, personalised s (Read More)ervices by İmara Destinations was excellent We started our trip from New Delhi to Nairobi via Mumbai by Indigo flight. Dennis was there to welcome us at the airport early in the morning. We started off to Samburu, had lunch on the way had a relaxing evening at the resort. We had a wonderful game drive next day at the samburu national reserve, saw a leopard, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, etc from close quarters. We went to ol Pajeto conservancy, fed blind rhino, saw chimpanzees and other animals including two horned rhinos, proceeded to Nakuru saw pelicans, flamingos etc there, Masai Mara we stayed for three nights and had two game drives. Could see lots of lions, cheetah with its prey as well as a pregnant cheetah, zebras, giraffes etc. we also saw ostriches and other animals and birds there. We then went to Naivasha had a boat ride with walk and see crocodiles and hippos and crescent island visit walked with zebras, impalas and wildebeest but couldn’t see giraffe there. Due to floods last year many parts of crescent island got submerged so could only see part of the island. Our last destination was Amboseli park with game drive there. Overall it was a highly satisfying and interesting experience. İmara Destinations did a very good job of taking us to the exact spots where animals would be seen uninterrupted. Well done İmara Destinations. Thanks to Dennis and Murray for it

Just went for 8 day safari with James and Wild Portraits Safaris...it was spot o (Read More)n perfect. Reasons 1.Clear communication and replies always comes very quickly on WhatsApp. 2. Very genuine with suggestions and doesn't do things as a job or formality. 3. James is very knowledgeable. 4. The enthusiasm and passion shown by James was just so infectious. 5. The planning of itinerary takes care of all the finer details. 6. They really take care of your focus and they don't try to sell anything you are not interested in. For example we skipped the village visit because we didn't see value in it. 7. Quite flexible and adjusts as things progress.
