New Hampshire, USA

New Hampshire might be referred to as the Granite State, but it is known for its beautiful fall foliage, with winding roads and numerous trees dotted with the colours of the season. It has more than 90 state parks and adventure activities like kayaking, trekking, and skiing, making it a popular destination for adventure lovers.

For the more sombre, there are simpler pleasures to be found as well, like cider tasting, historical tours, and museum experiences. While the state is largely mountainous, New Hampshire is famous for its coastal pebble beaches and is equally sought after for its delectable seafood restaurants sprinkled across the city. The famous poet Robert Frost lived in New Hampshire for a great portion of his life and his romantic works reflect the awe-inspiring environment of the state.

New Hampshire was one of the first colonies out of the thirteen to be formed by the settlers from England. Its colonial history can be witnessed and experienced at various museums such as the American Independence Museum located in Exeter. The Strawbery Banke Museum is an open-air history museum located in the South End district of Portsmouth, which is the oldest neighbourhood in New Hampshire. One of the longest ziplines in the country, a length of 1.6 miles 140 feet above the forest canopy, is found at the Gunstock Mountain Resort. Also, several train excursions are offered throughout the year, where tourists can enjoy beautiful vistas and lakes while seated in historic and refurbished carriages.
