Riad Chefchaouen

A riad is a traditional Moroccan or Andalusian residence with a palatial design and an interior courtyard with a garden. Near-ruined houses and riad-style architecture have been renovated and turned into hotels and guest houses where you can spend a weekend exploring the city. Most of these riads have beautiful gardens up front and terraces on different levels. Stunning Chefchaouen sunrises and sunsets against the Rif Mountains can be experienced from these terraces.

They are influenced by the medieval Persian garden houses that were popular among the elites during the Islamic and Ottoman periods. There are patio furniture scattered all over the courtyard and terraces where you can sit and relax. It is the most popular architecture among accommodations in Chefchaouen.
